This Fourth of July weekend, Bryson City is the place to be! Celebrate America’s birthday with three days of red, white, and rail-powered fun at the Red, White & Steam Festival, hosted at the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. It’s a high-energy, family-friendly event filled with small-town charm and Smoky Mountain spirit.

FREEDOM TRAIN!
Celebrate Independence Day aboard our Freedom Train! This patriotic evening departure leaves at 7PM ON JULY 4TH for a 2-hour and 15-minute round-trip ride through the scenic Smokies. Enjoy delicious food included with your ticket as we cruise toward a scenic stop perfect for capturing sunset views—please note, there is no layover and passengers must remain onboard. You’ll return to town just in time to catch the fireworks show and end your 4th with a bang!
