60th Annual Shindig on the Green in Pack Square Park. “Shindig is a FREE event in the heart of downtown Asheville on summer Saturday evenings: a joyously spontaneous celebration of traditional and old-time string bands, bluegrass, ballad singers, big circle mountain dancers and cloggers. Stage show on the Bascom Lamar Lunsford stage and informal jam sessions around the park. Bring your instruments, lawn chairs or blankets, family and friends and join us “along about sundown” – or at seven o’clock for those who wear a watch – and enjoy the rich traditional music and dance heritage of the Southern Appalachian Mountains.”
