The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office invites our community to attend our National Night Out Event on August 1st. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes partnerships between law enforcement and the community to make our neighborhoods safer and more caring places.

The event will be hosted at the Buncombe County Sports Park offering recreational activities, a covered recreational shelter, and more. In addition to fun activities, the Sheriff’s Office will be offering a fleet display with other public safety partners and the opportunity for our community to discard any unneeded medications for safe disposal in partnership with the Partnership for Substance-Free Youth.
Drug take-backs help prevent opioid misuse in Buncombe County and support an important way to prevent the flow of abused prescription drugs. This partnership will allow the public to prevent pill abuse and theft by disposing of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.
Special thanks to Buncombe County Parks and Recreation, The Partnership for Substance-Free Youth, and many other partners joining us to host this community event.
