Easter is celebrated on March 31st this year, and some event dates and times are just beginning to be finalized and officially announced, so our list is far from complete, but it’s filling up fast!

If you’re looking for an Easter Egg Hunt as part of your Easter celebration, check them all out below! We will keep adding them as they get posted, so if your church, group, or organization is having one that you don’t see on our list, let us know on our Facebook page, and we’ll get it added!

ASHEVILLE AREA EASTER EGG HUNTS

Mar 15th 6:00pm-8:00pm – Teen Egg Glow Hunt with Asheville Parks & Recreation at Linwood Child Community Center. Teens can hunt for eggs, too! Join for a night of adventure, glowing eggs, and prizes. Hunts are divided into two age groups to ensure an age-appropriate and enjoyable experience for everyone. Mar 16th 11:00am-1:00pm – Easter Eggstravaganza at Oak Forest Baptist Church @ 484 Jackson Rd, Fletcher. Games, crafts, Egg Hunt, and Free Lunch. Children through 5th Grade.

Mar 16th 2:00pm-4:00pm – Resurrection Egg Hunt at Fletcher First Baptist Church @ 5 Cane Creek Road, Fletcher. All ages! We will have an egg hunt for ALL children through 5th grade at the ball field at 2:00. The story of Easter will be told with Resurrection Eggs following the egg hunt. Then, lots of prizes, games, and drawings for all INCLUDING TEENS! Food will be served in the Fellowship Hall as well.

Mar 23rd 12:00pm – Dog EggStravaganza at the Dog Park at Buncombe County Parks & Recreation. “This event will offer some springtime fun for our furry friends, and will consist of a small and large dog division. Each division will have approximately 30 minutes to find as many hidden eggs (filled with treats) as possible. In addition to hidden treats, dogs who collect the most eggs will receive a special prize. While admission is free, pre-registration is required as there are limited spots available. Mar 24th 12:00pm-1:30pm – Spring Fest 2024 at The Gathering Church in Arden @ 1 Miami Circle, Arden. Join us for this family friendly event for kids of all ages. Come out and enjoy a peaceful, beautiful day with members of Vegan City Asheville Facebook group and the 80+ animals at Animal Haven of Asheville! Mar 30th (& 31st) – Easter Scavenger Hunt at Biltmore. Discover giant Easter eggs in the gardens, inside Biltmore House, and in Antler Hill Village! This estate tradition invites you and your kids to learn fun facts about the estate and experience its beauty as you search for 25 giant beautifully decorated eggs. Find and snap photos with each egg, leave the eggs behind for the next “hunter,” then move on to the next! Available on two different days, this family-friendly event is sure to delight hunters of all ages. After the hunt, head to Antler Hill Village to collect your child’s treat bag—which includes a special commemorative egg. Although the scavenger hunt lasts all day, a limited number of Easter Scavenger Hunt treat bags will be distributed from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. each day of the event. Mar 30th 10:00am-6:00pm – Easter Trolley Ride and Egg Hunt with Craggy Mountain Line Railroad in Woodfin. Come and enjoy an old-fashioned 4 mile round-trip trolley ride which lasts approximately one hour and 25 minutes. The ride includes our Easter egg hunt at the Riverside Park where the children can hunt Easter eggs. Plus, each child will receive their very own Easter basket with treats! The 74th Annual Asheville Holiday Parade, presented by Bojangles of WNC, rolls, dances and marches through downtown Asheville on Saturday, November 23rd beginning at 11am. The parade features nearly 100 entries including businesses, nonprofits, school and youth groups, marching bands, and of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Madeline is a graduate of UNC Asheville and a resident of Buncombe County. She learned at a young age that sometimes almost losing your life can be the catalyst to truly finding it in a way you never had before.

Madeline is an entrepreneur, speaker and pageant “roll-model” who loves to chase bold adventures. At just 10, she suffered a T-10 spinal cord injury, and since has climbed Mt. Rushmore and traveled the world. Madeline continued her passion of inspiring empowered living by founding a nonprofit organization called Live Boundless, which helps to deliver wheelchairs to medically underserved countries around the world. Her next adventures include being the first woman in a wheelchair to compete in Miss North Carolina USA and traveling to the Philippines and Ecuador for wheelchair delivery projects – along with shark cage diving in Florida!

Not only will Biltmore and Patton Avenues be closed prior to and during the parade, some side streets will also need to be closed off. ART bus routes have to be detoured around the parade as well. For these reasons, the City encourages everyone to plan ahead, allow plenty of time to get downtown, whether by bus, bike, car or on foot. The following routes will be affected by detours:

NORTH: N, N1, N2 and N3

EAST: E1, E2 and 170

SOUTH: S1, S2 and S5

WEST: W3, W4 and S5

The Asheville Downtown Association is once again partnering with Winter Lights at the North Carolina Arboretum and the City of Asheville to bring festive holiday lights to Pack Square and Pritchard Park in Downtown Asheville. On Friday, November 22 from 5-7pm they will host the Downtown Local Lights lighting ceremony, as well as offer FREE photos with Santa and Mrs Claus. They’ll light up the park at 6pm after a brief ceremony, and also have free crafts with the LEAF Easel Rider.

We felt is was important to release as soon as possible since some camps released their schedules early, with discounts that you can only take advantage of before a set deadline. Spring Break RPG camp! Kids 9 and older are invited to spend the day on a 2 acre family homestead “Adventuring” via the Roleplaying Game (RPG) Pathfinder (the newest evolution of legendary RPG Dungeons & Dragons). We are located 2 miles from the intersection of Patton and Haywood in West Asheville. We’ll let their imaginations run wild while they do! Experiential learning through Cartography, Math, Language Arts and Storytelling all come into play with this RPG, and kids exercise their social skills in group decision making and strategic thinking. Our facilitators aim to infuse content with learning opportunities in nature studies and ecocentric thought. Excursions to the woods around the homestead lend themselves to the storytelling value of the game and there will be time for free play/lunch/snack breaks and visits with the farm animals of FELC. Healthy snacks are provided but send a bag lunch. Work Trade opportunities are available!

The Asheville Holiday Parade, presented by Bojangles of WNC, rolls, dances and marches through downtown Asheville on Saturday, November 17 beginning at 11am. The parade features nearly 100 entries including marching bands, dance and cheer squads, youth sports, nonprofits and businesses.

In 2011, Davis completed the Appalachian Trail (2,185 miles) in 46 days, 11 hours and 20 minutes, making her the fastest A.T. hiker until the record was broken again in 2015. In total, she’s hiked more than 14,000 miles of long-distance trails on six continents — adventures that informed her seven books, numerous articles and interviews, and speeches on making the wilderness accessible to all. This Ashevillean served as board member for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and an ambassador for the American Hiking Society.

The lighting ceremony will begin at 6pm.
