Join us at The Hop on Merrimon Ave! We’ll have skaters from all three of our home teams and our travel teams there from 2 to 4pm to share in delicious ice cream treats, tell you all about roller derby and our upcoming bouts, and show off some cool derby skate moves! We’ll have our awesome merch there to sell and a raffle where you can win BRRD merch and free tickets to an upcoming bout (game).
You’ll also have an opportunity to learn about junior roller derby and adult roller derby, so bring the kiddos! We’ll have sign up sheets for those interested in skating with us or just volunteering and being part of our big ol awesome community.

Do you feel that stirring? The faint sense of something magical riding the cool winds that announce the start of Fall? A touch of joyful madness on the breeze…
That can only mean one thing: The Surreal Sirkus Arts Festival is coming!
Once again, as we’ve done for many years, Arts 2 People will host Asheville’s most unique arts festival at Pack Square Park, a free day-long celebration of the freaky, funky community that makes this town so special!
This year’s event will be bigger than ever with multiple stages for live music, dj’s, and performance art throughout the parks. Plus dozens of local art vendors, food, libations, and of course it all gets capped off with the night time performance by Surreal Sirkus.
This year’s show is going to be a truly special one. It was originally planned for last year, but due to Hurricane Helene we rescheduled it to this year. And we’ve been working on it all year, unfolding the backstory one chapter at a time in a series of shows known as The Tale of the Cosmic Eggs.
On Oct. 25, all the eggs come together, and we will share a new story with you, told through circus arts, live music, puppetry, narration, fire dancers, and more.
And while you don’t need to know the backstory to enjoy this one, if you’d like to get caught up on the Tale of the Cosmic Eggs, we have begun releasing the story and videos at surrealsirkus.com) and will continue to release them up to the festival.
Music lineup will be announced soon, so watch this space!
