The Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club will be celebrating Independence Day with their members spanning 2 full days (July 5th & 6th), but as usual there will be a spectacular display of fireworks as part of that celebration by their talented resident fireworks team in the evening of July 6th over their golf course, that will be visible by all in the area!

Foothills Watershed is a 117-acre riverside bike park and family hangout in Old Fort, NC—just minutes from downtown. Enjoy trails, shady riverbanks, a natural pond, refreshing drinks, and Latin-inspired food from Chefs Eric Morris and Luis Martinez.
Phuncle Sam 4th of July Show
Come celebrate 4th of July with the music of America’s favorite band, played by Asheville’s favorite Grateful Dead tribute band!
Weekend Live Music
Highland Brewing weekend live music showcases amazing bands including local favorites, talented regional acts, and national touring bands hailing from the East Coast and beyond. Free and open to guests of all ages (unless noted otherwise), bring your crew to dance, listen and vibe to a myriad of genres including soul, bluegrass, acoustic, country, folk, R&B and more!
In warmer months, live music is held on the scenic Meadow stage where camp chairs and blankets are welcome. Coolers and outside beverages are not permitted. Shows are rain or shine – if the skies don’t cooperate, the music moves indoors to the Taproom where we’ve got plenty of room for you to boogie down!

SKYLARANNA’S Freedom Fling
Annual 4th of July Disc Golf Grand Opening Weekend! This Independence Day weekend, be part of history as we launch SKYLARANNA’s long-awaited disc golf course with the inaugural FREEDOM FLING, a celebration of sport, nature, and good times at one of the most scenic resorts in Western North Carolina. Whether you’re a seasoned disc golfer or just here to enjoy the vibe, there’s something for everyone on our 64-acre mountain campus.
DISC GOLF TOURNAMENT DETAILS
- Play Hours: 10 AM – 6 PM
- Format: Singles or Foursomes — Shotgun Style!
All teams will begin simultaneously from different holes, rotating through all 18 at the same time for maximum excitement and pace.
- Tournament Group Start Times: 10 AM | 1 PM | 4 PM
- Tiebreaker Shoot-Off at 6 PM if needed!
- Entry: $20 Individual | $60 Foursome
- Registration Deadline: Thursday, July 3rd at 12 PM
- Tee Assignments Sent by 5 PM Thursday via email/text
- Spectators: Free Admission!
