Latch AVL
Join us for LatchAVL, a free celebration of World Breastfeeding Week for expectant parents, families with young children, and community members! It’s Saturday, August 3, from 9 am – 1 pm, at Rabbit Rabbit (75 Coxe Ave., Asheville). RSVP at https://buncombepfc.org/latchavl or on the Facebook event: Latch AVL . We’ll have story time, family portraits, a baby-wearing class, yoga, a cooking class, a safe-sleep demonstration, advocacy about breastfeeding, and car seat training, music and more. We’ll have activities for the kiddos too!

End of Summer Splash Bash
Come make a splash and say goodbye to summer! Join Mills River Parks & Rec for our annual Splash Bash. Wear your swimsuits, bring your beach towels and don’t forget the sunscreen, because it’s about to be an end of summer bash at the park! FREE EVENT!!
Inflatable water slides, slip and slides, water gun wars, putt putt, and games. It’s the best way to wave goodbye to summer and live it up before school starts back!
(water guns will be provided, but you may bring your own!)
There will be FREE Snow cones to the first 100 kids!!
KoleKole Ice Food Truck will be there selling snow cones, funnel cakes, fried oreos and drinks.
Chick-fil-a food truck will be here as well!

Backpack Giveaway
John McClung Roofing takes pride in giving back to our community and one of the ways they do that is through their annual Backpack Giveaway! This year, their goal is to provide 1,000 backpacks filled with supplies for kids in WNC for the upcoming school year!
Supplies are limited. Pre-registration is highly recommended.
Back to School Movie in the Park
Special Back to School Movie in the Park with Hendersonville County Parks & Recreation at Jackson Park in Hendersonville. 
Featured movie is Kung Fu Panda 4
Backpacks filled with school supplies will be given way to the first 400 elementary school aged kids at the event
Bring your blanket and chair for this free, fun, family night out
A food truck opens at 7pm and the movie starts at dusk (approximately 8pm)
Family U-Pick Day (Blueberries)
Our U-Pick farm is perfect for kids and families! Join us monthly on Saturdays in July and August for $20/gallon organic blueberries and let your kids experience picking their own berries.
- Parking: Along the road beside the field
- Containers: We provide the containers
- Accessibility: Easy access for all on a level fairly even surface (wheelchairs can be used but can be difficult if it has recently rained)
- Rain: We are open rain or shine if you want to brave the elements for some berries, we will too
Info: Our berries are 100% organic and are never sprayed. We have over 365 bushes which are easily accessible for kids and adults alike. We provide the containers but don’t expect anything fancy, you might get a gallon milk jug or a broken in bucket but they are all gallon size+ and are great at holding blueberries. We are outside 90% of the time waiting on customers but if we have taken a sandwich break give us a quick call at (828)683-3608 and we will head down to the field.
