Fall into Girl Scouts- Outdoor Art Creator event
We invite all girls in grades K-5 to one of our Girl Scout Outdoor Art Creator events!
Girls will:
– make new friends!
– learn about Leave No Trace!
– inspect nature from a different perspective!
– create nature jewelry!
Girls can come to one of the two events being offered on Thursday, November 7 or Sunday, November 10; both events begin at 4:00 p.m. and will last for approximately one hour. These events are free and an opportunity to learn more about Girl Scouting, ask questions and plug into local Girl Scouting programs, including camp!
Both events are happening at Malvern Hills Park in west Asheville, 28806.

R+W connecting the ANDs Family Book Club
Roots + Wings School of Art + Design is pleased to offer a new book club for the whole family! Each season, we’ll select a series of books dealing with social issues, including books for adults, teens, middle grade students, and picture books and host a series of discussion groups and events for various ages, or follow along on your own and have your own book club discussion around the dinner table.
We don’t claim to be experts in any of these topics, but as one of our connecting the ANDs projects, the goal of this book club is to build community, expand our circle, and create meaningful connections. We want to hold space for these important conversations in and across communities. We’ll also collect and share resources to help support families having conversations around these sometimes difficult subjects. Visit rootsandwingsarts.com for more information and registration. Therapeutic Recreation Glow Climb (6+yrs)
For ages 6+. Join us for an evening of indoor climbing on the Montford Wall. The climbing wall will be lit with black lights and we suggest participants wear white or neon colors. No music played during the first hour of climbing. First time climbers welcome.

Make It Don’t Buy It Skill Share: Kids Program
Join the team at Roots and Wings School of Art & Design for curated arts sessions for kids age 6-14. The morning arts session is focused on papers and prints! Students will learn block printing, and draw and paint conceptual designs. Make a gift for mom, dad, or other family. The afternoon session is focused on custom journals and fabric creations.

Make It! Don’t Buy It! Skillshare event celebrates the handmade over the store-bought, and lifts up local makers and artisans in our community, while bolstering the sharing economy. Enjoy a day of music, refreshments, and handmade gifts, and take the opportunity to make something for a loved one, guided by one of our featured artists in a specially designed skillshare session. Our theme will be seasonal, and gifts will be inspiring for the winter holidays and beyond. Examples include printmaking, felting, paper making, metalsmithing, and plant-based crafts.

Dirtbag Baby Speaker Series
Next up in our Speaker Series! 👣 Bekah and Derrick Quirin hiked the entire Appalachian Trail when their adorable babe Ellie was 1 year old. The next summer, they biked the Continental Divide from Canada to Mexico as a family. Pretty incredible, right?! Having a baby didn’t stop them from pursuing adventure, it enhanced their experience. Join us for an evening of stories and Q&A with the family who pioneered some serious long distance adventuring with a babe in tow.

Photos & Cocoa with Santa
We are open for our regular Sunday Funday Session from 1-6pm but with an added special guest! Santa Claus will be joining us from 2-4pm for Photos and Cocoa. He will also skate and play games.
