Pay What You Can Cafe

“Pay What You Can” Cafe
Wed 9/25 5:30-7:30pm
Did you know there are 50+ restaurants/cafes around the country where anyone can eat a full meal regardless of the amount of money they have in their pocket? It’s a great way to help fight growing food insecurity and offer a place for community.

We believe that White Horse Black Mountain is a wonderful place to house the next one.

Nearby there are two successful examples, one in Boone and the other in Johnson City.

A fundamental rule about this non-profit business model is that it grow from the community….

….That’s where you come in. You are invited to our first information gathering and demonstration donate-what-you-can light dinner. Bring any friends you think might be interested.

We’ll be having creator’s workshops on Tuesday evenings beginning September 24 at Pack Memorial Library. We’ll also have stations at branches starting in October for origami bird making. All of the birds made will be a big part of our holiday parade!

If you like to work in teams, get your hands dirty, and get crafty come join us, everyone is welcome! Open workshops, drop in and help when you can on posted dates!

Our host and instructor for the large scale puppet hands is a graduate from VCU Arts and is an experienced large scale papier mache artist.
