Back To School Fest 2019
Family Friendly day in the park with food, fun and games. Back to School Fest is an event supporting children of Henderson County (and surrounding) as they prepare to return to the classroom.
This year we will be dedicating this event in memory of Taqunia Collins. Taqunia was Vice-President of Back to School Fest 2018 and will be truly missed.

Summer Picnic
What better way to see your friends during our off season then with a summer picnic? Please invite people you know who are interested in Special Olympics, but who are not part of our program yet. This picnic is not just for our athletes but for any potential athletes. It is a chance to meet athletes and parents from other teams and to make new friends.
We will have some games for you all to play and of course food. It is important that you register (links below) to let us know if you will be there or not so we know how much food to get. Menu is below.

National Night Out with the Marion Police Dept
Held in local towns across the country, the National Night Out is a nationwide event that allows communities to interact with emergency agencies for food, fun and entertainment. Marions National Night Out includes:

National Night Out Open Swim
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Celebrate National Night Out with Buncombe County and the YMCA of WNC with a free community swim. Children must be accompanied by parent/guardian. Children under the age of 13 must pass a swim test to swim in the facility. If the child does not pass the swim test, they will be required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life vest and their parent/guardian must be in the water within arm’s reach. Facility is located on TC Roberson’s campus next to the tennis courts.

Season Kickoff Party
Hurricane Helene may have knocked us back last year, but it didn’t knock us down. We’re kicking off the season in a big way with live music, food trucks, outdoor games, bakery goodies, and a professional fireworks show you’ll be talking about for weeks! Plus, the Justus Orchard Tap Room will be pouring our full selection of fresh brews and ciders all day long! Come for the music, stay for the berries, and end the night with a bang!

Documentary film – 21 Years – A Folded Flag
Saturday, July 27, 2019 at NOON, at the Spring Creek Community Center everyone is invited to a showing of the film- “21 Years- A Folded Flag”. This is a documentary film directed by Richard Fitts, Jr. the son of an army Green Beret Missing-in-Action for 21 years after he served in the Vietnam War. The film chronicles Rich’s journey to learn about the fate of the father he never knew. Rich will be coming from his home near Boston Massachusetts to attend this event! His film was recently shown in an international film festival, and at several other venues since it was produced in 2018.
Food available at Dave’s 209, FREE popcorn, water & sodas. Displays including a Missing Man table, raffle, and a couple very special introductions are planned. Posters will be displayed around Spring Creek along with postcards to take to remember the date. I hope that many of our Spring Creek area residents will plan to attend this special and FREE event” .
