Asheville GreenWorks Spring Tree Giveaway

If needed, April 5th will be the rain date.

Join Asheville GreenWorks for our Spring Tree Giveaway. We will be giving away American Beech, Flowering Dogwood, Black Gum, Pawpaw, Shumard Oak, Pignut Hickory, Eastern Red Cedar, Black Willow, River Birch, Virginia Pine, Sweetbay Magnolia, White Oak, Sycamore, Red Maple to Buncombe County Residents. *Two trees per household.* Please bring along either a valid ID or a recent bill for address verification.

To receive your free trees, you will need to go through a short on-site training on how to plant and take care of your tree. This training is provided by certified arborists and is required for all attendees.

FREE Pizza Celebration

They say there’s no such thing as a free lunch, but on Friday you can get pretty close.

To celebrate the opening of Blaze Pizza’s newest Asheville restaurant at The Peaks on Tunnel Road, the eatery will give away free build-your-own pizzas on March 8, from 11 a.m.-11 p.m.

To be eligible, diners have to first follow the brand on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.

Blaze Pizza serves personal signature and customizable pizzas, with prices starting at about $8. Cooked in exceptionally hot, fire-driven ovens, pies are ready in about 3 minutes.

Annual Community Yard Sale

Over 70 families are donating furniture, clothes, books, toys, home goods, and more. This is a fundraising event, and all proceeds are to benefit Asheville Waldorf School.

Extreme Weather – A Conversation with Bill Nye

Event time is 7:00 pm with doors at 6:00 pm.

Presented by the U.S. Cellular Center and The Collider in collaboration with the Asheville Museum of Science are excited to announce EXTREME WEATHER; A Conversation with Bill Nye The Science Guy. Moderated by Greta Johnsen of WBEZ Chicago and host of the NERDette podcast. Greta and Dr. Nye will focus the conversation on Extreme Weather and Climate Change. This event, will kick off Climate Week in Asheville, as the start of the Climate City Expo, at 10-day celebration of Asheville’s creativity and commitment to climate change awareness and action.
