Grey Fox Twice-a-Month Saturday Programs
New: Convenient in-town drop-off & pick-up option!
New: Sign-up for just one day, or all Spring!

Ages: 6-13 (two groups)
– ages 6-8
– ages 9-13

Time: 10AM – 4PM*
*varies depending on drop-off/pick-up location

Dates: March 2, 16 & 30, April 13 & 27, May 11 & 18, June 1 (8 days total)

Price: $50 per day. Choose which days work for your schedule
– Monthly payment plans available

NEW Convenient Drop-off & Pick-up Location: We now provide transportation to and from the forest!

Choose either the program location at Shope Creek in East Asheville or Earthfare near downtown as your drop-off/pick-up location.
– If you choose Shope Creek, drop-off is at 10:30AM and pick-up is at 3:20PM
– If you choose Earthfare our staff will transport your children via passenger van from the city to the forest. Drop-off is between 9:50-10AM in the Earthfare Westgate parking lot, pick-up is at 4PM at the same location.

Program Location: in E. Asheville at Shope Creek Wilderness
-This is the forested location where the program takes place.

Registration for individual Saturdays closes on the Wednesday before that class.

Rock the Dock

Lake Julian Park celebrates 55 years in 2019 + we’re enhancing this great community space with a series of improvements. Join us as we dedicate the lake’s new accessible dock which can accommodate multiple boats + slips.

Enjoy demonstrations from the Asheville Sailing Club, hot dogs, + music. You can tell everyone you were one of the first new kids on the dock! May 4 is also Free Fishing Day — no local fishing permit is needed. (A North Carolina fishing license is still required.)

Baby Boot Camp Pop Up Class

Bring the kids and come sweat with us, grab some amazing food and beverages afterwards!! $10 drop in rate for non members

Brews, Blues & Barbecues – Marion, NC 2019

First ever BBQ, Beer, and Blues Music festival in Marion, NC. We plan on having several large local breweries come, as well as spotlighting some of our smaller local breweries. Several musicians from across the region. As well as more varieties of BBQ than you can count on your fingers and toes combined. Be prepared for a lot of southern charm with a little bit of true soul!

The Waynesville Mile

The 1st Annual Waynesville Mile is a family fun run …..

The event is being done to encourage families and individuals to get out in Western North Carolina and enjoy our goodcleanwater and beautiful areas for recreation.

Base camp Waynesville is the Adventure  Recreation program for Waynesville Parks and Recreation…

Through it we run our summer camp program, our base camp on the go mini camps that are free for children , an adult and family Recreation opportunities throughout the year.

We partner with Haywood waterways for  stewardship opportunities to promote clean water in the headwaters County of Haywood County

4th Annual Bow Wow Film Festival

We are proud to present the 4th Annual Bow Wow Film Festival! Come join us for this fun event to celebrate our beloved canine companions! This year we have another rousing, fun loving show so please join us for a delightful evening out to celebrate our beloved canine companions and all the richness they bring to our lives!

We are so excited about the movies we have chosen for our 2018-19 Tour! A few highlights for this year’s films; we have movies about working dogs, both old school and new school, we have the return of the delightful Ask Frank and his advice column and we go international with movies filmed abroad! Come laugh and cheer and maybe even tear up a bit as we marvel in all the ways these beloved furry creatures touch our lives!

Asheville GreenWorks Spring Tree Giveaway

If needed, April 5th will be the rain date.

Join Asheville GreenWorks for our Spring Tree Giveaway. We will be giving away American Beech, Flowering Dogwood, Black Gum, Pawpaw, Shumard Oak, Pignut Hickory, Eastern Red Cedar, Black Willow, River Birch, Virginia Pine, Sweetbay Magnolia, White Oak, Sycamore, Red Maple to Buncombe County Residents. *Two trees per household.* Please bring along either a valid ID or a recent bill for address verification.

To receive your free trees, you will need to go through a short on-site training on how to plant and take care of your tree. This training is provided by certified arborists and is required for all attendees.
