Stroller Strides (Indoor) (all ages of children to attend with their parents)

Mon & Wed. 8:15am

Stroller Strides® is a functional, total-body conditioning workout designed for moms with (or without) kids in tow. Each 60-minute workout is comprised of strength training, cardio and core restoration, all while entertaining little ones activities and fun! Each Stroller Strides instructor is skilled to meet you where you are mentally and physically. You’ll leave class feeling connected, successful and energized! This class is all about self care in a supportive and encouraging environment (& inside where it is warm until late spring).

We welcome all ages of children to attend with their parents. Mamas must keep children in strollers or baby wearing, if the child is not directly participating. Drop in rate is $12 per class or 10-pass for $99

Make a Poster/Banner for Women’s March

We invite everyone who’s interested in social justice to come together and create some powerful posters and banners for this year’s Women’s March on Asheville 2019! Even if you won’t be able to attend the march, come by! Share your thoughts, ideas and inspiring art with others in safe collaborative atmosphere. We will provide paint, some brushes, repurposed canvas and other art supplies for your projects. Bring some extra poster paper and paint, if you can, in case we have more attendees than expected. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks of your choice!
Donations to Our VOICE will be accepted (and greatly appreciated)!
Let’s make some powerful art together, and let our voice be heard!

Kiddo Clothing Swap

It’s time for our next clothing swap, kid edition! Newborn through middle school sizes welcome. Sift through your children’s closets and bring all their outgrown outfits along and upgrade to sizes that fit! As always, everything leftover will be sorted and donated and unusable pieces will be recycled!
Are you also overwhelmed with outgrown toys? Bring those along, too! Swap for more age appropriate toys and everything leftover will be donated to families and foster homes in need 🙂

P.S.No car seats or cribs please!

Swannanoa Greenway Winter Warmer Celebration

Come learn about a planned Swannanoa Greenway at Winter Warmer Celebration of Asheville Greenway programs, Jan. 16 at Highland Brewing!

This will be the first greenway in east Asheville. Members of the Asheville Greenway Committee will be there there to share information with residents about other greenway projects also planned for the near future.

You are invited to join us on Thursday, January 10th for an all-day Fitness and Aquatics Open House. Enjoy refreshments from our Healthy Meals Kitchen, meet our staff and trainers, tour and try out our brand new strength training equipment in our beautiful gym, take a swim in our indoor, solar-heated pool, check out a group fitness class, and learn about our advocacy and direct service programs!

And if you become a member in January, you will receive 1 month of membership for free, a free gift, and we will waive the join fee!

Sesame Street Live! Let’s Party!

Jump to the beat with your friends on Sesame Street! Join the fun with an interactive show that unfolds on one of the world’s most famous streets at the funniest, furriest party in the neighborhood. Learn new songs and sing along to familiar favorites with Oscar and Cookie Monster; build a snowman with Elmo; flap your wings with Big Bird; marvel at Abby’s magic; be amazed when Super Grover flies, and move to the rhythm with Rosita. Anything’s possible when everyone who shares something in common gets together.

Nurturing Parenting 101 (New mothers of children 0 – 24 months)

What: Nurturing Parenting 101 is a program provided by The Children’s Center of Transylvania County in collaboration with The Family Place of Transylvania County in Brevard. Our hope is to create an inviting environment for new parents to meet other new parents. Talk about first times and milestones. As well as build new friendships.

Who: New mothers of children 0 – 24 months
Say what?!: FREE childcare if you wish to speak without your child present (you may keep your child with you, if you prefer)

Mothers with previous experience (i.e. older kids, but one kiddo between 0 – 24 months) are welcome to join us, or join one of the Parent Chat sessions offered by The Family Place. 🙂

KidsFest

Kidscoast KidsFest is FUN for the entire family!

Kids will enjoy carnival games, candy, and prizes.

A highlight to the evening will be our 2nd Annual Chili Competition!

Bring your prize winning Chili and enter the competition or a dessert or Chili fixin’ to share.

The church will provide drinks and paper products.

Schedule:
5-6 pm Carnival Games
6-8 pm Chili Competition and Dinner

Candy Donations
Want to help out? We need LOTS of candy! Please donate sealed bags of individually wrapped, nut-free candy throughout the month of October by bringing them to the Kidscoast table on Sunday.

No scary costumes please!

First Friday Fish Fry
