This year we are hosting a week of Winter Break Camp for students in grades K-2. Each day we’ll explore the outdoors and look for how things are changing with the arrival of colder weather. Who hibernates? Who migrates? Who stays around? Activities will include themed games and crafts to help us connect to our understanding of the natural world in winter.
This winter experience is available a la carte! Purchase 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 days of STEAM fun for your camper. Each day of camp will have different activities in our STEM lab and will include time to explore the museum exhibits.

For both pick-up and drop-off at AMOS parents should park in a local area parking lot or metered spot and walk child into the museum using the front entrance and sign camper in at the lobby area. Visit ashevillenc.gov and see below for parking suggestions.

Come and visit our first open to the public Christmas Light and Train Display. Lots of Christmas Lights, Inflatables, Christmas Village, Model Trains, Candy Canes, Music, Holy Tree, Lasers, and more. Drive by slowly or park in our spacious driveway and view everything up close. Located near Macon Middle and Mountain View Intermediate Schools on Clarks Chapel Road.
Open to the Public Friday-Sunday evenings 6:00pm-9:00pm. Lights on Daily 5:30pm-10:00pm.

The City of Asheville invites the community to celebrate the unveiling of new public art installations at 3 p.m. Nov. 30. The event will start at Jean Webb Park at 30 Riverside Drive, and end at the Craven Street Boat Launch at 190 Riverside Drive. The purpose is to highlight the greenway, art and the community.
Big Fish, a large metal sculpture created by local artist, David Earl Tomlinson, will be unveiled. Attendees will also be able to walk the future section of a riverfront greenway.

We are very excited to announce another partnership with UNC Asheville! Our Asheville YMCA and the UNC Asheville Women’s Basketball team have partnered to host an instructional basketball clinic on Dec. 1 at the Asheville Y. The clinic is open to boys and girls between the ages of 5-16. This $15 clinic will include an hour and half of instruction from college coaches and players as well as a t-shirt.
