Library Block Party & Fundraiser
Join library friends, staff, and volunteers at Beaver Lake Park at 4pm on Saturday, October 20th for a block party and fundraiser. Planned activities include mountain stories for all ages by acclaimed storytellers David Novak and Janice Inabinett, children’s facepainting, a library booksale, and a raffle for Buncombe County Library totebags with books handpicked by librarians. Food will be available for a suggested donation of $5. To respect the park, please no dogs or alcohol. Park your vehicle in the library parking lot. October Movie Series
Join us at Bold Rock Mills River for our October Movie series every Thursday in October! We’ll be showing four favorite Fall/Halloween themed movies outside in our cider garden. Choose a seat on the porch, at a picnic table, or bring a blanket to enjoy the movie from our lawn. Bold Bites will be serving special movie treats including popcorn, candy, pretzels w/ beer cheese, and more!

Goldie & the Screamers + Pink Mercury at Hazel Rob. Amphitheatre
Plugged-In Productions presents the inaugural concert at the Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre this October 12th with Asheville’s very own gritty soul band, Goldie & The Screamers and the art-rock-dance-pop collective, Pink Mercury!
Come celebrate with us as we get down to the sounds of live music for the very first time in the history of our one of a kind natural amphitheare, located right in the hear of Asheville!

PINK MERCURY is an entirely improvisational pop/rock collective with the goal of tapping into the buoyant, exploratory field that lives under and above our everyday lives.
Joining the lineup on Oct 12 at *7pm sharp* will be Stephanie Morgan (vox, formerly of stephaniesid), Ryan Oslance of Mistresses (drums), Merrick Noyes of Third Nature (keys), Zack Kardon of Southern Pine (guitar), and Mike Savino of Tall Tall Trees, PLUS professional dancers Kate Rouzer and Jeff Ewing.

GOLDIE AND THE SCREAMERS is fronted by the texturally rich vocals of CaroMia Tiller, who’s performances seamlessly metamorphose song to song- at times lush and sultry and at times soul shaking and explosive. Their grooves are driven by the funky bass lines of Chandler Brewer, vintage R&B beats of Jacob Coats, smooth keyboards of CaroMia and the standout dapper guitar stylings of Jesse LapinskI. Goldie & The Screamers tend to lean toward the seductive avenues of Soul music.

West End Bakery Pizza FEAST Fundraiser
Tickets $25 – Kids under 12 are free
On Saturday November 3rd 6-8:30pm West End Bakery and Café in West Asheville will host Pizza FEAST – raising funds for the FEAST program and Bountiful Cities.
West End Bakery will roll out a variety of pizzas on their artisan pizza dough. They will also sample some of their new artisan sourdough breads. Vegetarian and Vegan options will be provided as well as West End signature salads and desserts. Hi-wire Brewing and Birds Fly South Ale Project are donating beer and non-alcoholic drinks will also be available. Live music performed by the amazing and lively Afrocan Duo will feature the guitar and drum music of Agya Boakye-Boaten and Djer Zunguze.
Ticket price includes food, beverages, and entertainment. Tickets are $25 per person and kids 12 and under can attend for free. Tickets are available in advance
