Asheville Art in the Park provides access to some of the finest artists in the region with it’s market series now in its second decade. The event takes place on three Saturdays each June and October. Nationally known artists exhibit at this event and the best part is- they are local. Muddy Knees Design and Production proudly offers local artists the opportunity to connect with the public in Asheville‘s Pack Square Park. You are invited to come out to Asheville Art in the Park, take a stroll around downtown Asheville and experience the textures and forms of a truly unique art garden
What will you see at Asheville Art in the Park?
At the event you are sure to find the finest in handcrafted art that Asheville Area Artists have to offer. Skilled workers of Glass, Ceramics, Wood, Jewelry, and metal make their shops open to display to the public at every market. Positioned in the center of downtown Asheville the market has created over $1M in needed income for area artists. Many artists return to the market to welcome customers each year. Asheville is known as the hub of artistic activity that radiates throughout the area. Not only does Western North Carolina boast many excellent craft education programs, but it also plays host to many tourist each year. The vacationers marvel at the city as it’s arts and culture oozes out of every side of the artcentric mountainous region. Come start your next artistic adventure in the center of Asheville in Pack Square Park this June and October and take home some of the wondrous bounty that is Asheville Art.

International SUNday is an annual solar outreach event celebrating the summer solstice, featuring the Earth’s nearest star – our Sun!
Join the Astronomy Club of Asheville this Sunday, June 24th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for an afternoon of observing through safe solar telescopes!
The event is free and open to the general public.
Located in parking lot P8 off Campus View Rd (opposite the Reuter Center) on the north end of the UNC Asheville campus (https://maps.unca.edu/).
Remember, this event is subject to weather. Please check the Astronomy Club of Asheville website (www.AstroAsheville.org) as conditions could cancel this solar observing event. Check-in again after 10:00 a.m. on the day of the observing session for the latest info and update.

On a select Fridays each month, the Learning Center will offer events designed especially for families visiting our campus. Friday Science Jamborees will feature live music, snacks from Smiley’s, presentations at the AdventureDome planetarium, stargazing at the Sky Deck and tours of the NASA artifact, mineral, and meteorite exhibits!
Science Jamboree is a Rain Or Shine evening event that showcases the night sky from a variety of perspectives and experiences.
Reservations are required for this event: $20 (adults), $8 (children age 6-11), with children 5 and under FREE.
Bring the whole family out for a fun evening of friends and music all while benefiting a great organization! For the adults there will be beer and entertainment provided and for the kids the Kona ice cream truck will be on site!
Cost: minimum donation per adult is $15; minimum donation per child is $10 (16 and under)
Join Kindermusik teacher Ms. Yvette (value $20) for some musical fun with your child/ren. You will have the opportunity to download music to practice with your kids at home! Ice cream at The Hop following the music class.

This mystical climbing experience is offered Saturday Nights from June 7-August 30, and Thursday Nights June 19-August 7 at 7:45 pm.
Imagine climbing 40 feet in the air and zipping along a hang glider or a sky kayak in the largest adventure park in Western North Carolina. Then, as the sun starts to set, the challenges become illuminated with over 15,000 colored twinkle and laser lights. Five of the Adventure Park’s aerial trails become illuminated with all their leaves, cables, ropes and platforms. Our Twilight Climb is a great way to celebrate with friends and family. It can also be a fun way to have a date!
