Central Weekday School’s Spring Carnival
Please join us for Central Weekday School’s Spring Carnival! It is a free, family-friendly event, and will take place on the church grounds and in the fellowship hall. If you have preschool-aged children, this is a great opportunity to learn about our Weekday School, and meet a few of the teachers. We hope to see you there!

Earth Day – ART in The Gardens!
Earth Day at the Peace Gardens means ART!
Please join us as we finish the new “found object fence” along the front of the gardens. We’ll be using found metal objects to create a community-built masterpiece that welcomes visitors into this special space. Focus will be on creating a magical botanical specimen, so think flowers and plants…and we’ll also do some work in the gardens themselves for those who prefer sinking their hands in the Earth.
We’ll be providing tools, tunes, libations, and wood-fired pizzas to fuel all of the contributors! Feel free to bring pizza toppings, sides, or drinks to share. The fire pit will be crackling for those who want to chill by the fire.

Literacy Outreach with Bess the
Join us as we celebrate Bess’s 10th year of nationwide travel for a literacy outreach event dedicated to building home libraries and a love for reading by getting books into the homes of children who otherwise may not have access to book ownership.
Our goal is to spread the word about Bess’s mission and allow children to come aboard Bess to shop for a brand new FREE book.
Spring cleaning your bookshelves? Bess will also be accepting donations of gently used books.
Community Yard Sale
Bargain-hunters will have even more chances to find deals this spring and summer. Goodwill stores in northwest North Carolina will host community yard sales nearly every Saturday through August. Each yard sale will open to buyers at 8 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m. (or until sold out).
At each yard sale, people wanting to sell items can set up a spot for free. The yard sales are limited to members of the community and are not open to professional vendors. Some store locations may require sellers to reserve a spot in advance due to limited space. For any questions and to reserve space, email yardsale@goodwillnwnc.org.

Pink Dog Creative Presents: The Community Container Project
Express your inner artist! All Kids Welcomed! Pink Dog Creative in collaboration with LEAF Easel Rider,is presenting an opportunity for kids to create artwork that may be selected for a community mural adorning an ever-changing shipping container located in the River Arts District. This is a free event!
