DxE Holiday Potluck

Please join us for a community potluck! Please bring a vegan dish to share with everyone. Vegan means no animal products, so please make sure your dish has no meat, dairy, eggs, honey or any derivatives of them. Please keep in mind we have lots of members who also choose to eat raw, gluten-free, etc. Also, remember to bring your own plates and utensils. See you there!

We will also be holding a raffle! Items being auctioned off include teas, vegan food, and wines, electronics, and much more! Tickets are $2 each or 10 for $15, and go towards putting up an animal liberation billboard. We can only take cash.

First Day Hike

Kickoff a new year at Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park during this First Day Hike. A Park Ranger will lead visitors from the front entrance of the park along the 3-mile main road to the base of the Rock. Hikers will learn about the Park’s fascinating history during their trek. A shuttle service will be provided back to the front gate at the end of the hike. Hike participants can return to the Park for the day at no charge. Hikers should wear comfortable shoes, dress appropriately for the weather and bring plenty of water.

Meet at the Old Rock Café at 8am. Advance registration is not required. Please call the State Park office at 828-625-1823 if you have any questions.

Santa & Drífa The Elf

Come hang out with some fellow pet lovers at this ornament decorating event and help out the Asheville Cat Weirdos Emergency Fund!

There will be some preprinted official ACW ornaments for purchase for $10 each until they’re gone. The pricing for pay to design ornaments is 1 for $5 or 3 for $10. There will be some example designs or you can design however you’d like.

There will be delicious baked goods available thanks to some awesome volunteers and beverages will be available for purchase through the Odditorium.

Drífa & I will be there as Santa and elf for pictures with it without your kitties (at your own risk, of course)!

Toys for Tots

Asheville Outlets is partnering with iHeart Media, 99.9 Kiss County and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve this holiday season for the annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive Marathon. Morning show hosts Eddie Foxx and Sharon Green (99.9 KISS COUNTRY) will be joined by representatives of the Marine Corps for a two-day live broadcast at Asheville Outlets beginning at 6 a.m. on December 15th and finishing at 9 p.m. on December 16th. The radio marathon is a push to collect as many toys and cash contributions before the campaign concludes on December 16th. Donations will be distributed throughout eight Western North Carolina counties. Last year WNC Toys for Tots helped over 9,000 area children. About Toys for Tots – The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

Tea with CATS! With Asheville Humane Society

Join us for a very special Afternoon Tea Service — Tea with Cats! We will be hosting the Asheville Humane Society in an effort to facilitate kitten and cat adoptions by serving tea alongside cats in need of a new, loving home! Join us for great tea, homemade food, and adorable cats — representatives from Asheville Humane Society will be in attendance to introduce the cats and answer any adoption-related questions. The cats or kittens at tea will be ready for adoption upon completion of all required paperwork following the event. In addition, 20% of proceeds will be donated directly to the Asheville Humane Society.

Afternoon Tea includes individual bottomless pots of tea, warm scones and shortbread cookies with seasonal jam and Devonshire cream, traditional finger sandwiches, and petit-four style desserts. Everything is homemade, from scratch.

Reservations are required, as space is limited. A $10 per person deposit is required to hold reservation space, while the remaining cost can be paid on the day of event ($25/person total). Deposit info will be sent by e-mail upon making a reservation.

Annual CHRISTMAS EVE COMMUNITY Concert and Carol Sing

One of our favorite nights of the year is our annual Christmas Eve Community Concert and Carol Sing. On Sunday Dec 24th, we will once again gather to share music, friendship and joy with our local community in Black Mountain. There is no charge for this event and we usually have a large turnout for this event.
We look forward to seeing you there.
