LEGO Robotics Intensive (8-13yrs)
Students will dive into an introduction and exploration of Lego EV3 Robotics, learning to work with gears, sensors, motors, and programming software. They will learn standard based math and science concepts to achieve self-set goals that will be showcased to family in the final session. Students will explore the engineering process and see what it takes to become a First Lego League competitor.
This three-week intensive is geared towards ages 8-13 and will be broken up into six, two-hour sessions (2:45pm-5:00pm, with a 15-minute snack/stretch break).

Hey Local Asheville Family and Friends! Smoky Park Supper Club is excited about partnering with one of our lovely staff members Joshua McClure. Joshua McClure is a community navigator and always looking to help his community in any way possible. Joshua has started a Toy and Clothing Drive which he hosts for three families every year. This year he is hosting a Toy and Clothing Drive for three families who have three young boys ages 5-7. Joshua is looking for Clothing, Toys, and Cash or Check donations. We are hoping to have a great turn out with this wonderful event. Please come help us help our lovely staff member Joshua with helping three families have a wonderful Christmas.

Vegan means no animal products, so please make sure your dish has no meat, dairy, eggs, honey or any derivatives of them. First Day Hike
Kickoff a new year at Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park during this First Day Hike. A Park Ranger will lead visitors from the front entrance of the park along the 3-mile main road to the base of the Rock. Hikers will learn about the Park’s fascinating history during their trek. A shuttle service will be provided back to the front gate at the end of the hike. Hike participants can return to the Park for the day at no charge. Hikers should wear comfortable shoes, dress appropriately for the weather and bring plenty of water.
Meet at the Old Rock Café at 8am. Advance registration is not required. Please call the State Park office at 828-625-1823 if you have any questions.
