Halloween Costume Karate (Bring a Friend!

Halloween falls on a Tuesday this year. Which also happens to be our one of our regular Karate nights. This means we will party down Halloween style!

Bring a friend and wear your costumes and we will have a fun night learning karate and playing games. I will have a special prize to the winner of the best most creative costume. And of course, I’ll have some treats handy.

Introduce your favorite friend to the best dojo around and have fun! If you are not a student already, that’s fine. Come and enjoy the party…you may just end up staying!

This event is scheduled till 7:30, however you may chose to leave at any time if you have other Halloween and/or trick or treating events to get too.

Spread the word…you can bring as many people to this fun evening as you want too! ☠️

Halloween Dog Costume Contest

We’re celebrating Halloween in style with our 3rd annual Dog Costume Contest at Big Top! Bring your furry friends dressed up in a costume and win prizes in a handful of categories. Entry is free, just be sure to signup starting at 6pm at Big Top. Contest starts at 7pm.

15th Annual Chili Cook-off

If you love to cook, love to eat or both, join us for the 15th Annual Orchard Chili Cook-off on October 19th at 6 pm. If you want to enter the competition, call Starli McDowell at 828-385-2688. The entry fee for cooks is $10 (tax deductible) for a chance to win the grand prize of $100 or the runner-up prize of $50!

Not the cooking type? Come and enjoy the food! Tickets are $10 (tax deductible) per person and include a tasty meal of the chili entries, taco salad, dessert, and beverage. For reservations, call The Orchard at 828-765-9531.

Halloween Family Dance Party! (18mos-3yrs)

Join us for Baby Steps Dance Asheville’s 3rd annual Halloween Family Dance Party! Dress your little one in their costume (caregivers are welcome to wear their’s, too!) We will have a spooktacular Halloween themed dance class with festive music, movement games, multi sensory props, sing-a-longs, parachute play and more! A fun, silly and not so scary time for the littlest trick-or-treaters!

PARI Homeschool Day (K-12th Grade)

We invite all students (K-12) to join us on March 29th from 10am-2pm for our Annual Spring Homeschool Day featuring “Stars in Our Eyes!” This program gives an in-depth look at the dynamic field of astronomy and the study of stars. Program topics will highlight stellar evolution, supernovas, nuclear susion, stellar interactions, double stars, and binary star systems.

Registration to Homeschool Day at PARI is limited to 100 students (25 per class).

Clothing Swap

Better Late than never!! Clean out your closets and come on down to the community center for our semi-annual clothing drive and swap!! All sizes and genders… clothing, shoes, accessories, and household goods. Bring what you can; take what you need. We can NOT have a drop box at the Carver Center for donations prior to the swap, so PLEASE contact us so we can make arrangements for pickup. Otherwise, you can bring your items on the day of the swap. Please remember that we do not take underwear unless it is new in the package. Please launder all clothing before donating. AS ALWAYS… we can use volunteers for setup on Friday night and break down on Saturday afternoon.

Annual Homegrown Halloween

It’s that time of year again! Time to strut your stuff and don the most creative and fun loving Halloween Costume you and your family can come up with!

This family friendly Halloween party is for the 2 and under crowd! Come for some fun and be home in time for a normal bedtime. Costumes strongly encouraged! Prizes will be awarded. Older siblings are of course welcome but this is your chance to dress up your littlest ones for some Halloween fun.

Light refreshments will be provided!
