Free Parent-Child Movement Class (2 and 3 Year Olds)

A fun time for parents and little ones to come together and move! Through games, songs and an interactive story, they will learn spatial awareness, how to connect with others in a group, and gain practice following simple directions as a team. Most importantly, their confidence in their movement abilities and readiness to be part of group classes will take off!

Try this free class and then, if you’d like, sign up for our 5 week series that starts November 4th! Cost for the series is $35 total.

Meet Baby James

In appreciation of all the people who have supported and prayed for him and have been dying to meet him, Baby James will be at Soggy Bottom Farm on October 14th. There will be food, music, and yard games so come hangout for a few hours and cuddle with cows!

Annual Sausage Festival

Raise your steins high—it’s time for our 7th Annual Sausage Festival! Out in the Big Barn, we’re celebrating the season’s crowning event: all things sausage, paired with kraut, brews, pretzels, and mustard. Get in the spirit with your best Oktoberfest or fall-themed costume (extra points for silly sausage themes)!

  • 🎶 The day will be filled with live polka music from Das OomPapas, a Fermentation Basics demo with Meg Chamberlain of Fermenti Foods, and a live sausage-making demo with Butcher Brian. You’ll also find local artisans and vendors—perfect for holiday shopping—plus our crowd-favorite Adults-Only Musical Chairs (winner takes home a $150 HNG Meat Sampler). For the kids, don’t miss the Pass the Pretzel game, along with pony rides, hay rides, apples, cider, and more as we celebrate the grand finale of fall festivities at the farm.
  • 🌭 Food and drink will be flowing all day. Silly Willies Food Truck will be serving up Hickory Nut Gap sausages and dogs, Blunt Pretzels (from Swannanoa) will bring authentic German pretzels, and the Farm Store will feature sausage samples and sales with Lusty Monk Mustards. Local craft beers, NA drinks, and sodas will be on tap at the HNG Bar, while Barn Door Ciderworks pours crisp local cider.
  • 🎁 Don’t miss our raffle benefiting WNC Food Waste Solutions! Tickets are just $5 for a chance to win a local goodie basket featuring HNG salamis and vendor favorites, a freezer sampler of HNG sausages and dogs, or a pasture-raised Thanksgiving Turkey or Ham (winner’s choice!).

Haunted Corn Maze & Party in the Barn

Haunted Corn Maze & Big Barn Party

Join us for a night of ghosts and ghouls in the corn maze! After getting spooked in the maze, join us for a dance party in the Big Barn. DJ Disc-Oh! will be playing some great thriller tunes and we will be serving alcohol for those 21+.

Enter your costume into these categories: Scariest costume, best character costume, best couple costumes. Gift baskets for the 3 winners of these categories.

Spooky Maze & Halloween Dance Party

A haunted corn maze, filled with spooky specters and ghastly ghouls! Followed up by a costume parade for big and little Halloweenies and a family friendly dance party! A local goodies bag will be provided for each little monster, and there will be drinks, snacks, a fire for roasting weenies and making s’mores. Put on your deadliest duds and freakiest faces to face this Spooky Maze! If you love taking your family to KidHop AND Halloweening, this party’s for you and your crew. All ages welcome.

Budo Mountain’s Halloween Party!

Budo Mountain Family Martial Arts is coming up on our 5th Birthday! Please join us to celebrate!

Saturday, October 28th, 1:00 – 4:00 pm, all families are invited to our Dojo’s 5th Birthday Party and Annual Halloween Bash! It’s a costume party full of trick-or-treating, adventurous and imaginative kids games and some spooky (but kid-friendly) stories!

Attendees get a FREE UNIFORM with sign-up to our Ninja Kids Club martial arts classes.

Harvest Hootenanny

WHAT: This will be a harvest celebration for all of your senses. There will be; Illustrations of all things harvesty (created by ZaPow’s talented artists), fresh food prepared into delicious tasty morsels free for the tasting (harvested and prepared by Asheville’s own Patchwork Farms), live Appalachian string band music by the Possum Plow String Band, sidewalk square dancing called by Cory Marie, and of course, there will be free local beer.
