“Aladdin Kids’ stage production

Parkway Playhouse has become known in the last few years for its excellent youth productions. Aladdin Kids will be no exception! This Parkway Playhouse Junior show features 4-11 year olds from Mitchell and Yancey counties. Students have been rehearsing since early September and plan to dazzle audiences with their high-energy dance numbers, memorable songs, and even some tumbling routines. This show is the perfect family friendly outing for parents wanting to introduce their children to “a whole new world” of performing arts!

Aladdin Kids runs November 18th and 19th at 6pm at Parkway Playhouse. Tickets are general admission and sold at the door.

Rock Art Of Joshua Marc Levy Feat. The Paper Crowns

The Rock Art Of Joshua Marc Levy Feat. The Paper Crowns Live, Sunday Dec 4th from 6-9pm, All Ages, Free. Opening artist reception features a live set of music by The Paper Crowns. Inside, an exhibit of local & worldwide rock art created by local Asheville artist Joshua Marc Levy. Levy’s art has represented over 60 different bands and artists in 2016 alone, including local superstars The Broadcast, The Fritz, The Dirty Badgers, Nest Egg, Hard Rocket, Ouroboros Boys, River Rats and more. See a series of hand-pulled concert screen prints, new album cover art, live photography, original ink drawings for posters, with preliminary & post project collages. Poofas: Popping In to Lend a Hand

Local author Kerry Bober reads from her new children’s book POOFAS. Kids will have a chance to get their pictures taken with cut outs of some of the characters or write and illustrate there own POOFA stories.
Come join me in meeting the POOFAS, as they share their POOFA-POWERS and take us into their world of helping kids! POOFAS are positive-thinking thought bubble creatures that help kids handle stress and develop healthy coping skills. By POOFAS sharing their POOFA-POWERS with us, they help us to understand that these powers are already in each and everyone of us! POOFAS can act as valuable teaching aides, therapeutic aides and/or parenting tools.

Winter Break Kids Camp

Ok parents…I’m here to help you out over the winter break! Here’s my plan….a two week camp offering that you can pick and choose what days you need or want. This allows the parents that have to work over this break a cool place for their kids to hang out, besides your office floor hooked in front of a tablet (this was once me).

You can sign up for the full two weeks if needed, or you can just do a few days to cover you until you have free time to be with your families for the holidays.

Much like the summer kids camp I had, I will pack on as much activities during the days to keep your kids busy. I don’t have a set in stone schedule of events but I expect a full two weeks of packed mixed martial arts…at least! My summer kids loved this program, so I hope they will enjoy the winter camps as well.

To sign your kids up, a non-refundable 50% of desired tuition is requested for registration. The other half of your tuition will be collected on the beginning week of December 19th. You can sign your child up for as little or as much as you would like during this special holiday offering.

We do this on a donation basis, and this event really helps out a lot of people and enables us to continue offering mountain bike outings to youth who would not otherwise have that opportunity!
