Pumpkin Painting
Coinciding with our weekly Wednesday Night bonfire, AVL Food Park, Edna’s at the River, and WhispersHoller Farms present a night of Pumpkin Painting On Wednesday, October 26, from 5-8pm.
Paint and brushes will be provided, but your child should bring a smock, if possible. Purchase a small pumpkin and have you child add their artistic touch in our backyard, that you don’t have to clean up!

Trunk-or-Treat
Load in with your kids and your car at Asheville Food Park for a Trunk-or-Treat! We will also have candy to give and will be giving away prizes for great kids costumes and for the pumpkin painting from the week before (Oct 26th, 5pm-8pm)!
Family and Dog friendly, we kindly ask that you can be loaded in by 5:30 so that we can offer safe trick or treating onsite! Right up to the neighborhood up State St.

Give!Local Kickoff Party
The fresh chill of fall is here and with it comes the warm fuzzy feelings of Give!Local.
Join Mountain Xpress and the Give!Local partner nonprofits for our big kickoff celebration at the Salvage Station on Thursday Oct. 24, for an evening of fun and fundraising!
Together we are kicking off our fifth exciting year! You will be able to get to know our 45 nonprofit partners and better understand the work they do in the community. We will also have a silent auction filled with fabulous things and performances by Heather Taylor and Asheville Choral Society.
The event is free to attend. Food and drink will be available for purchase from the Salvage Station.

Wanting to indulge your need for Halloween? Join Asheville High School Bands for Haunted High 2019. Each year, Asheville High School is transformed into a house of horrors complete with zombies, ghouls, and the ghosts of students past, doomed to walk the corridors forever searching for their math class. This year’s Haunted High will be bigger and better than before, featuring some spine-tingling new scares! Don’t miss this terrifying local Halloween tradition. A spooky fun house for old and young inspired, it’s happening Friday, November 1st and Saturday, November 2nd!
We’ll have two levels of scariness: “Scary” and “Extreme Terror.” Tours are flexible, so ask your guides for the scary tour if you have little ones in your group.
