Fletcher Fall & Food Fest

The kids are back in school, the leaves are slowly beginning to change and football is in full swing. Fall is quickly approaching. Help us bring in this exceptionally beautiful time of year in Western North Carolina by joining us one month from today for our first annual Fletcher Fall & Food Fest!
We’ll have live music all day from Emily Bodley!!!, Freewheelin’ Mamas and the Fly By Night Rounders featuring Abby the Spoon Lady!
Local vendors will be on site from 1-5:30 P.M. showcasing their locally made foods and other products. So far we’ve got The Chocolate Lab Of Asheville, The Cheese Store of Asheville, Green River Picklers, Woogie’s Beer Mustard and Dippin’ Sauce, Asheville Pretzel Co., Ivory Road Cafe & Kitchen & Baabals Ice Cream & Coffee Shoppe. Lunch, Dinner and snacks will also be available from Taste & See Food Truck and traditional #Oktoberfest food will be offered by Olive Catering Company!


Kids and adults will find fun in stations from Wild Birds Unlimited, Asheville, NC, Mineral & Lapidary Museum of Henderson Co Inc, and more! Plus kids will have a blast in the bounce house or getting creative with a craft.


Synergistic Bodywork & Massage by Lynelle will be on site offering $1/minute massages for anyone in need of some bodywork before the holiday season!


You can count on all your favorite Blue Ghost brews as well as some special releases too. Check in regularly as we will be adding more info to this page! Happy fall y’all!

Homeschool Discount Day (4+yrs)

$25 a person for the Asheville Treetops Adventure Park- $25 per person for the Kid Zip for Homeschool students and their families:
March 11- Wednesday
May 6- Wednesday

Nov 13- Friday

The Adventure Park is an aerial challenge course in the trees with 60 unique climbing, rolling, walking, jumping, swinging, and rappelling elements in a wooded park.

Enjoy two hours of adventure for ages 4 and over (trail restrictions/escorts ages 4-12).

Highland Lace Makers

Saturdays, Sept 17th, Oct 15th, Nov 19th, & Dec 17th

We will make bobbin lace and foster interest in this traditional weaving art form.

The programs will provide instruction, with occasional classes and guest teachers.

Cherokee Stickball Demonstration

Featuring our local team, Wa le la “the Hummingbirds”! Stickball is an ancient game still played throughout the Cherokee Nation and is similar, in some ways, to lacrosse! This event is free and taking place at the UNCA Rec Field (Blue Turf). Resources on the sport and it’s history are available for the classroom too!

Picnic Party

 

May 27th – First Picnic Party – Carolina BBQ! … We’re kicking off another season of picnic parties with a good ol’ Carolina BBQ! Food & beer will be served all day out on the Creekside Lawn, plus live music from 3-8pm!

June 17th – South of the Border Buffet! … Join us for our second Picnic Party of the the 2017 season! We’ll be serving it up buffet-style with delicious Mexican, Latin American, and Carribean food specials.

July 15th – Stars & Stripes Cookout! … Join us for our third Picnic Party of the the 2017 season with a patriotic Stars & Stripes cookout! Live music & food specials TBD!

Aug 19th – Texas BBQ! … Join us for our fourth Picnic Party of the the 2017 season with a Texas BBQ! Food specials TBD!

Sept 16th – Chicken Fried! … Join us for our fifth Picnic Party of the the 2017 season with a fried chicken fiesta! Live music & food specials TBD!

Oct 14th – Leaf Season Blowout! … Join us for our sixth and final Picnic Party of the summer with leaf season blowout bash! Live music & food specials TBD!

Haywood Heart to Heart 5K

Join us for a self-timed 5K to support our awesome friend and co-worker, Jacob. Jacob is a nurse on the cardiac floor at Haywood Regional Medical Center who underwent a life-threatening illness and open heart surgery in July. He and his wife, Kalane have a one year old little girl, and another sweet baby on the way.
Sprint, jog, walk, or mosey along this easy rolling course following the beautiful Lake Junalaska trail.

Beverages and snacks will be available for sale before and after the run, and we will also have a DJ for entertainment. All proceeds go directly to Jacob and his family to assist them as he recovers. Let’s jog for Jacob, and put our cardio to use!

5 Year Anniversary Fundraiser

5 Year Anniversary Fundraiser at Webo’s BBQ in the River Ridge Shopping Center, benefiting Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry. In honor of its fifth anniversary, Webo’s is opening on a Saturday and donating 100 percent of its profits to ABCCM! All proceeds go to fund ABCCM’s programs for the homeless, hungry and needy in our community. $7/Plate of pork, beans, cole slaw and a roll.
