Robert V. Staton Pavilion Dedication

The Park at Flat Rock and Recreation Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce the official dedication of the Robert V. Staton Pavilion inside The Park at Flat Rock. The event is free and open to the public. Guests will enjoy bluegrass music and an assortment of refreshments.

The Pavilion construction and furnishings were made possible a grant from the Community Foundation of Henderson County, appropriated Village funds and an anonymous donor who wanted to honor the work and commitment to community of Bob Staton. The Village Council unanimously supported the naming of this facility in The Park.

The Pavilion can be reserved for exclusive use from April to October on weekdays and on the second and fourth weekend. Availability schedule and reservation application can be found online, but the reservation application and appropriate fees must be delivered in person to the Flat Rock Village Hall. The Pavilion can be used at other times by the public if not already reserved. When the pavilion structure was envisioned by the Village Council the uses were proposed to be picnics, musical and theatrical performances, craft, art and exercise classes, family gatherings, shelter from weather and a fun place to gather.

The Flat Rock Park and Recreation Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2013 by the Village of Flat Rock, North Carolina to help raise the funds required to fulfill the vision of a signature municipal park for the community. That vision includes opportunities for recreation, health, and education for all generations while preserving the natural beauty that draws visitors from far and wide to Western North Carolina.
