43rd Annual Hey Day Fall Festival

Join us for the 43rd Annual Hey Day Fall Festival!
Hey Day is the largest WNC Nature Center event of the year and celebrates the wildlife, culture and community of Western North Carolina.

This year’s celebration will feature games, arts and crafts, educational animal programs, local food vendors and a wide variety of exciting wildlife.

Food will be available for purchase. There will also be a kick-off to the Friends’ fall raffle, with the opportunity to win great items!

Standard Nature Center admission rates apply for non-members. Friends members receive free admission. All activities are included with admission except for face painting and food/merchandise purchases.

Annual Founders Day Fair

The Transylvania Heritage Museum will hold its 10th annual Founders’ Day Fair on Saturday, September 1st. This year the festivities will be from 12:30-5:00 pm and will include a special Brevard’s Got Talent show, MC’d by Mayor Jimmy Harris, in honor of Brevard’s Sesquicentennial.

Other activities include Vendor booths, Craft demonstrations, Children’s activities, Mama Bear’s Food Truck, Bake Sale, Moonshine Still Display, Antique Fire Truck, Founding Families Exhibits and a whole lot more! The Road Apple Ramblers will be on stage following the Talent Show.

The Founding Fathers Guided Walking Tours will depart from the street at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm. No reservations are required for these tours and the cost is $5 per person. Payment will be taken in the Museum gift shop. Bring your tour tag and meet the guide at the street.

Bring a chair and enjoy a day of fun on the grounds of the Transylvania Heritage Museum.

After Hours Hike

Join Parkway rangers on the last After Hours Hike of the year and enjoy an easy, 2 mile round trip hike on a trail that is often overlooked. Learn how the trees and understory begin to change as fall approaches as well as how trail safety and encroachment issues affect the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Meet immediately south of the U.S. 74A bridge, located at Milepost 384.7. Bring water and a flashlight, wear sturdy shoes or boots, and prepare for changing weather.

RockFest 2019!

RockFest 2019 at Emerald Village will be Saturday, June 15th and Sunday, June 16th, 2019 and begins at 9:00 AM both days. Special activities include great food Vendors including the Switzerland Cafe, Live Music performances, a Treasure Hunt for kids, free guided hikes to hidden mines, a Swiss Alphorn performance, fascinating Geology talks and a Black Light Mine Tour Saturday at 9:15 PM. All the popular regular activities, including Gem Mining, Gold Panning, Mine Tours, and the Discovery Mill Free Exhibits will be available both days! Enjoy a fun weekend in the mountains to start your summer!

Lexington Corner Market will be offering complimentary tastes of our fresh in-house made sandwiches and salads as well as hosting beer and wine tastings throughout the weekend. We will also be sampling products from our amazing local vendors! Birthing this little baby has been a true labour of love and we are ready to party, so join us to celebrate our Grand Opening Labor Day weekend!
