Roscoe’s Marathon Station in Tuxedo (near Zirconia) … If you haven’t been, these are some of the best in the area, and well worth the short drive. They put on an amazing show every year, and shoot them off from the mountain behind the station, making them feel like they’re right above your head! It’s an all day party, so get there early and tailgate. Fireworks shot off at dark.
Food trucks will be onsite.
“Please be mindful that we are a growing community. Our goal is to provide a fun, family friendly and safe experience for everyone to enjoy. It is our pleasure to open our doors and welcome everyone. Shooting personal fireworks, use of alcohol and drugs are not permitted on or around premises. Be respectful and considerate of those around you and clean up after yourselves.”
“Bats eat bugs, they don’t eat people.”
Our annual Winged Creatures event is an evening to enjoy the Cradle at twilight. This program highlights nocturnal winged creatures such as owls, moths, and bats. Gates open at 6:30.
Beginning in the outdoor amphitheater, our Cradle educators will entertain with a short play, “The Gathering of the Winged Creatures.” This will be followed by a live animal program and short walk where participants can interact more with the characters from the play to practice owl calls, learn how researchers study bat populations, and search for moths at a moth attractant station.
An evening of family fun at the Cradle of Forestry!
