Mother’s Day & Kids Archaeological Dig 2016
Visit Cafe Israel for an evening of savory Israeli dishes and wine tasting, live folk music and dance, and children’s activities on Mothers’ Day, Sunday, May 8 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. Slip away into the exotic world of the Bedouins to sip Turkish coffee and sample films from the region, all in honor of Israel’s 68th birthday. Children will enjoy our traditional archaeological dig with take-home treasures; inflatables; balloon twisting from Twister Theater; and crafts and games.
While the children play, shop our silent auction featuring fine art, theater and play performances, trolley tours, and much more. Our LIVE auction (featuring Jonas Gerard art, Moog Sub Phatty, as well as legal, entertainment, and catering services) begins at 7 pm.
Curious foodie? Our dishes are ethnic, authentic and hand-prepared. Many are Moroccan family recipes handed down for generations. Sample falafel and schwarma, mabucha and malabi! Save room for dessert? Bruce B. Brown Catering, renowned for its flavorful kosher delicacies, will serve hand-prepared Israeli desserts.

Hiking with Kids Basics
Join us for a Hiking/Backing with Children class. This is the 100th Anniversary of our National Parks, let’s take the children out to see and enjoy them!
Course overview
A fun part of parenting is sharing the experiences you have most enjoyed in life with your kids. If you have a love for the outdoors it is only natural you would want to teach your children about its wonders. How to do this while recognizing their special needs is not hard, it just takes a little planning. Be patient and thoughtful, and soon you will find they are as excited as you are about spending a day outside. This program is designed to help facilitate your family fun outside.
Notes
Have you wanted to try camping with your family but don’t know how to get started? Join REI to learn what you need to take your first (or second or third) camping trip. We will cover the basics including: how to be warm, dry and comfortable camping, gear and equipment necessities, ideas for fun activities; and great local areas to give it a try. Camping is a fun and affordable way to take a vacation -outdoors! No experience necessary!
