Your UNC Asheville Women’s Basketball team is tied for 1st in the Big South Conference standings, and we need your support in this final stretch of the season! We will welcome Charleston Southern to Kimmel Arena Tuesday night as we also celebrate the champions of youth basketball in the Asheville area. All players with a youth jersey will receive complimentary admission to cheer on the Dogs!

Asheville City Schools On Site Magnet Schools Open Enrollment
This year ACS is offering on site enrollment at some of our neighborhood community buildings. If you would like to stop by and enroll your child in an Asheville City School, come on over and see us at the following places!

Join us at 2pm for a free farm tour. See the beauty of spring on the farm, and learn about how a real working farm operates. All ages and levels of education are welcome. We encourage you to come out if you have any questions about agriculture!
CONCERT: Altan
With award-winning music ranging from touching old Irish songs to hard-hitting reels and jigs, Altan showcases its unwavering commitment to bringing the beauty of traditional music, particularly that of the Donegal fiddlers and singers, to the stage. The band’s international status and success was recognized in 1996 when it became the first Irish band of its kind to be signed by a major label, Virgin Records. The music from the band’s newest project, The Widening Gyre, reveals the similarities between traditional Irish music and bluegrass roots, exploring the ancient bond between the two styles and breaking new ground in the traditional scene.

Both featured shows illustrate different phases of life with humor and poetic insight, and are set to the brilliant compositions of Beethoven, Vivaldi, Strauss and Copland.

CONCERT: An Evening with Joe Craven – [Freestyle Folk, World and Jazz]
Spend an evening with Joe Craven Sunday, March 13th! This man can get a tune out of any instrument (and just about any piece of junk too!) He’s probably best known for playing in Jerry Garcia’s Band, but Joe has truly carved a niche out for himself as one of the premier solo acts touring the world today.
Come see his one-of-a-kind performance from a true musical virtuoso!

Basketball, BBQ & Beer
The Southern Conference, Asheville-Buncombe Regional Sports Commission and the Southern Conference Asheville Local Organizing Committee will host a pregame indoor tailgate party prior to the SoCon Men’s Basketball Championship on Monday, March 7. The event – named Basketball, BBQ & Beer – will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and will take place in the concourse area of the U.S. Cellular Center. The event will give patrons an opportunity to sample fare from various Asheville-area barbecue restaurants and breweries.
Those attending the event will also need to possess a ticket for Monday night’s championship game, which will take place at 9 p.m.

Based on the acclaimed children’s story, the play is a sure classic. Travel with Milo to the Lands Beyond and experience ticking dogs, Rhyme and Reason, giant bees, and so much more outside of your wildest imaginations. This extraordinary adventure is sure to ignite the curiosity in all of us! Directed by Bradshaw Call.
Three performances will be held on the Mainstage. The performance schedule is April 29, 2016 at 7:30 pm and April 30, 2016 and May 1, 2016 at 2:30 pm.
