REGISTRATION begins TODAY for Play & Learn Groups (Infant & Toddler)

NEW GROUPS START Nov 13th, 15th & and 28th

Play & Learn is a FREE 8-week series of adult-child activity groups where families:

  • Learn what to expect from their infants as they grow into healthy toddlers;
  •  Learn pre-literacy & group socialization skill building activities
  • Discover the ways children learn through play;
  • Meet other parents.

“A structured adult-child group time that emphasizes pre-literacy skills through song, finger plays, stories, music, puppets, hands-on activities and fun for parents/caregivers and children ages 3 months – 35 months.  Space is limited.  Only children who are not enrolled in regulated child care and reside in Buncombe county are eligible to participate. Children who attend parent morning out programs are eligible to attend. Play and Learn is sponsored by Buncombe Partnership for Children and Asheville City Schools Preschool.

To be eligible, children must reside in Buncombe County, be at least 3 months old and not enrolled in licensed child care. Siblings may also attend.”

Asheville Primary School & Preschool
Infants: 3-12 months, Tues. 10:30-11:15 a.m.; Nov 13th-Jan 22nd (no class 11/20, 12/25, or 1/1)

Toddlers: 13-23 months, Thurs. 10:00-10:45 a.m.; 24-35 months, Thurs. 11:00-11:45 a.m.; Nov 15th-Jan 24th (no class 11/22, 12/27, or 1/3)

Trinity Episcopal Church
Infants: 3-12 months, Wed. 10:00-10:45 a.m.; Nov 28th-Jan 23rd (no class 11/21, 11/26, or 1/2)

2nd Annual Forest Floor Overnight Camp (8-15yrs)

“Child must have previously completed a Run Wild! Camp, one of our regular weekly/monthly programs, equivalent experience, or be age 13+

This new Overnight Camp is designed for returning Run Wild campers, and will take their skills and knowledge to the next level. Their days will be filled adventuring in the forest and their evenings spent around the campfire. Children will find themselves deeply immersed in the wonders of nature and further equipped with the skills to truly embrace the wilds.

Some elements of our camp activities and culture include:

expressing gratitude
motivation through inspiration and curiosity
postive role-modeling
deep appreciation for our Appalachian ecosystem and heritage
exploring the forest
learning hands-on skills such as friction-fire making
timelessness & wandering
evening music, celebration
story telling around the fire
skills and lessons that integrate into their lives at home


Price includes dinner Monday, meals and snacks on Tuesday-Thursday, and breakfast Friday”
