Asheville Strong Art Exhibit

The Asheville Art Museum is proud to present Asheville Strong: Celebrating Art and Community After Hurricane Helene, a poignant and inspiring exhibition on view from February 13–May 5, 2025. This non-juried exhibition showcases works by artists from the Helene-affected Appalachia region. The Museum wanted to provide an opportunity and venue for impacted artists to showcase their work, connect, and join together in a collective act of resilience. 

Asheville Strong will showcase a range of works including painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, and photography—reflecting the profound experiences of a community rebuilding through art.

Trailside Farmers Market at the Yard

Join us every Thursday evenings from March 20th on the equinox through October at our vibrant farmers market from 4-7 PM!

Experience fresh, local produce and handcrafted goods from passionate growers and farmers — the backbone of our community. Enjoy live music, locally roasted coffee, ice cream, a dedicated kids area, and ice-cold beer. Our current vendor list is fire, and we’re still accepting applications.

Family Folk Dance

3rd Sundays of each month Sept-May

Welcome to the Asheville Area Family Folk Dance! Come enjoy a tradition of community dance and live music handed down from generation to generation! A dance leader will teach each dance in a way anyone can understand, and the live open band will have your toes tapping no matter what! These simple dances are a good intro for adults and children to traditional social dance such as contra, squares, circles, play-party games, and other formations. We will draw from the American folk tradition as well as a few international favorites. Expect an atmosphere of laughter, encouragement, and connection!

All ages are welcome, no experience necessary. Children must be accompanied by an adult, but adults need not be accompanied by a child.

More details and tips:
  • Admission is free; donations appreciated but not expected. This event is sponsored by the Old Farmer’s Ball and is run by volunteers.
  • Bring a friend! Your child will have even more fun if they have a buddy whom they already know.
  • We suggest comfortable casual clothing and closed-toed supportive shoes with a slick sole (as opposed to good tread).
  • Please bring a water bottle!
  • Please help this intergenerational community stay healthy by staying home if you’re sick.

  • Craft your own headpiece—create fun animal ears or a unique crown!
  • Design your own bubble wand—then test it out with giant, floating bubbles!

  • Farm-to-oven pizzas available from 12 PM – 6 PM
  • Hand-tossed & fired in our wood-fired pizza oven—made with fresh farm ingredients!
  • Wander the fields & pick fresh strawberries and wildflowers
  • Enjoy breathtaking mountain views and a family-friendly atmosphere

 

Flowers For Mom Workshop

This class offers a creative, hands-on experience perfect for all skill levels! Participants will decorate terracotta pots using vibrant paints to transform each one into a heartfelt gift just in time for Mother’s Day. Feel free to get creative with your design! Everyone will get seeds to take home with them to plant in the pot once the paint is dry, creating a thoughtful and lasting token of appreciation for Mother’s Day.

Join us for a fun-filled evening at Easter Family Night! Enjoy egg hunts, concessions, prizes, and activities for the whole family. Don’t miss out on this exciting event-see you there!

Gather your family and friends and enjoy movie nights under the stars! Bring your blankets, chairs, and your love for movies!

Help us kick off the start of our market season on March 16th! Now more than ever, local artists in WNC need your SUPPORT!

Shop a variety of local artwork/plants/crafts, sip your favorite craft beverage from Sideways Farm and Brewery, delight your tastebuds with a variety of food options, groove to some great music, and enjoy our acreage.

What makes ours different? Location, space for kids to play (including our NEW Kids Corner area), the farm (pick your own flowers after you shop), Bee 101 class from David at Bee Masters, etc.
