This fun-filled day begins at the City of Brevard Sports Complex at 8:30am with our Rockin Ranger 5K. Following the 5K will be our Rockin Ranger Jamboree from 11-2 at the Pisgah Forest Elementary outdoor classroom where we will have music, food, inflatables, carnival-style games, cake walk and SO MUCH MORE!

Dollywood and Abramorama in association with The Dollywood Foundation have partnered to release THE LIBRARY THAT DOLLY BUILT, a behind-the-scenes look at Dolly Parton’s literacy-focused non-profit, Imagination Library. The one-night event will be integrated with Imagination Library affiliate partners in multiple communities around the country and is set for screenings in over 325+ locations on Thursday, April 2, 2020. Dolly Parton created the Imagination Library to inspire a love for books and reading amongst the nation’s preschool children. Since inception in 1995, the Imagination Library has gifted more than 135 million books to children and is currently gifting books to 1.45 million children around the world each month. The Imagination Library affiliates screening the film will receive 50% of box office proceeds to further their year-round efforts.

Baby & Me: Discovering Art
Parents and caregivers with little ones in tow are always welcome in our galleries, but Baby & Me was created specifically with the drool crowd in mind. Each first Saturday, these 30–45-minute guided tours offer a way for adults to engage with art and each other while baby naps or coos; no reservations required. Kids’ Program> Worms!
Cost: $5
In this class Johnny (from Johnny’s Got Worms), will talk to the kids about worms and what they do, how our food is grown and what happens to it after it leaves our plates. There will be worms for the kids to play with and interactive demonstrations. He will have worms and “worm farms” available for purchase after the class.
About the Instructor
Johnny is the owner of the vermicomposting company, Johnny’s Got Worms. He has been composting for over 10 years, and loves sharing his enthusiasm and excitement about worms and composting. He teaches classes for children encouraging them to get their hands dirty to find ways to reduce food waste and take care of our soil. Britten Strong 5K and Kid’s Fun Run
The 4th annual Britten Strong 5K and Kid’s Fun Run is once again coming to the Black Mountain campus of Montreat College on April 19, 2020. This student-organized race is an effort of the Montreat College Exercise Science program to give back to the community through fundraising to assist with necessary expenses for Coach Britten Olinger and his family after a life-changing auto accident in 2017. Come on out and enjoy a fun-filled family day with a 5K Race, Kid’s Fun Run, and children’s fun zone. Sign-ups will begin soon!

STAND TALL, MOLLY LOU MELON!
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library presents “Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon” by Patty Lovell. “Molly Lou Melon is short and clumsy – and has a voice that sounds like a bullfrog being squeezed by a boa constrictor. But her grandmother has always told her to walk proud, smile big, and sing loud, and she takes that advice to heart.” You and your little ones are invited to come watch this delightful children’s book come to life in this 20 minute sing-along musical, with a special appearance by Dolly Parton via video. There will be 3 or 4 actors from Dollywood’s Little Engine Playhouse, performing. This program is FREE and open to all ages (and perfect for toddlers and kindergarteners!)!
