Lionel Trains: Christmas in a Caboose

Come enjoy the magical experience of our model train exhibits which includes the Polar Express! It’ll be a joyous affair for the whole family. After being dazzled by the train displays head on down and board the party caboose to decorate some Christmas cookies while sipping on some yummy hot cocoa. Then breeze on over to the game room where we will be showing the Polar Express movie. Don’t feel like getting the troops all dressed up? No problem, pajamas are welcome!

Party times are:
10:00am-11:30am
12:30pm-2:00pm
3:00pm-4:30pm

*Tickets are $8:00 for ages 2 and up*

The Dancing A New Narrative ~ an AMC Community Fundraiser! has childcare and amazing kids & all ages activities!

All Ages Improv Games with Sammy Vanek
Faerie Folk Song Circles with Jon Handelman
Fun & Games with Sparkles the Clown
As well as service offerings from Face Painting Asheville with KJ Schroer & Plume Angel hair extensions with Eliza Volk!

Childcare and activities are $FREE$ with the exception of hair extensions and face painting!

Schedule of events:

Childcare:
Two providers will be available from the hours of 1 – 5pm (stay tuned for possible duration extension!) Little Elves Workshop

Drop your kids off at Hahn’s Gymnastics for some time to yourself and get some last minute shopping done. We will be decorating sugar cookies, making a Christmas ornament and watching a Christmas movie! Dec.14th,15th, 21st &22nd from 2-6 pm for $15 for your 1st child and $12 for each additional sibling each time they come.

Free Holiday Hay Rides

Your family can enjoy taking in the beautifully decorated Main Street from the back of a tractor-drawn wagon! These free rides take place in conjunction with the Hendersonville Iceless Skating Rink, and pick up/drop off at the Visitor Center, located at 201 S Main Street.

Craggy Mountain Line Railroad Jingle Bell Trolley GIVEAWAY CONTEST!

Family Friendly Asheville has partnered up with Craggy Mountain Line Railroad, to bring you an awesome giveaway contest! Your prize pack will include a family pack of passes on their 8th Annual Jingle Bell Trolley (4 passes to 1 winner at 5:00pm on December 19th, and 4 passes to 1 winner at 5:00pm on December 20th)! Be transported back in time to their 1940’s themed tradition Christmas depot! Decorated like a winter wonderland, their train cars are bustling with elves, lively Christmas critters and classical Christmas music. Fun for the whole family, the jingle bell trolley ride takes you down the mountain and up again along the historic Craggy Mountain Line Railroad. Afterwards, you’ll get to have a visit with Santa in his very own trolley! Lastly, you’ll enjoy free refreshments such as cookies and hot cocoa to warm up from a chilly Christmas ride. At the end of your visit, look around at all their restored cars, decked out in lights!

Craggy Mountain Line Railroad is a Non-Profit Organization which owns and operates the last three miles of the historic Craggy Mountain Line in Woodfin, North Carolina, working to make the rails open for the public to ride, and they do trolley rides and events throughout the year (like their hugely popular Dinosaur Day, and Hayride on the Rails!), and are one of the BEST places to have your birthday parties!

Deadline to enter is 8:30pm on Wednesday, December 11th, 2019.

Winner will be chosen at random, and will be announced December 11th after 8:30pm on the Family Friendly Asheville Facebook page.
