Art Exhibit, Dance Performance, & Fundraiser at the HOP

Join the artists of Open Hearts Art Center for an art opening and fundraiser at The Hop featuring a special dance performance!

50% of ice cream sales will go directly to our program. Half of all art sales go to the individual artist with the remaining amount going to program expenses at Open Hearts.

Open Hearts Art Center is a supportive studio and gallery dedicated to representing and empowering adults with varied abilities to connect to and reach their full potential through the arts.

Mini Mane Event

On September 14th, 2019 we will be hosting a Mini-Mane Event at the farm! This event is free and open to all. There will be demonstrations of the work we do, opportunities to meet and cuddle lots of horses and tons of activities for the kids. Come on out, y’all!

Stage Production: ‘Sea Song’ w/Hobey Ford

Sea Song is the story of a city boy who spends the summer with his grandmother at a remote beach cottage away from tv and computers. Finding his grandmother’s childhood photo album, the boy discovers her interest in sea turtles. Over his summer visit he gets to experience them himself as he witnesses their life cycle first hand. Sea Song is a non verbal piece accompanied by a subtle melodic instrument called a hang drum. The story is told through both shadow puppetry and table top rod puppetry. The story is set on a beach but the whole theater becomes the sea as the puppets frequently enter the audience.

This event is a fundraiser for the University of North Carolina at Asheville (UNCA) Drama Department. This fundraiser will allow the students to share their work in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Game On! Event

Elevate your gaming skills with our info-packed guides and activities at this interactive event for game-loving young readers.* *Event activities will not include gaming devices. Customers are invited to bring personal devices and hang out after the event to gameplay with the help of our official gaming guides.

Family Movie Night

Join us on Saturday, June 29th for our very first family outdoor movie night. We will be watching Ralph Breaks the Internet and admission is totally free and registration is not required! Just bring your own seating and snacks if you would like.

IFPA IN Asheville (Pinball Tournament)

Join us every Wednesday for WNC’s only pinball tournament! Enjoy an evening of fun, friends and pinball over craft beer from some of the area’s best local breweries. The $10 entry gets you into the tournament, as well as granting unlimited access to all of the other games that the Retrocade has to offer.

The format is:

3 rounds of Group Match Play with 2 tables per round

Top 4 move onto a Final Round:

1 round of group match play. 1 table only.

Buncombe Summit 2019: 3rd Annual Reynolds Mountain Hill Climb 5k

The 3rd Annual Buncombe Summit Hill Climb 5k Walk/Run will be held at 9am on Saturday, October 12th, in scenic Woodfin, NC, less than a mile outside North Asheville. The event runs straight up Reynolds Mountain for a 1,000 foot elevation gain before going back down the hill & returning to the finish line. Early bird registration is $25 & will open July 1, 2019, at www.buncombesummit.com. There will be a DJ (thank you OnPoint DJ!), prizes, t-shirts for pre-registered participants, a raffle, & a firefighter challenge course for kids. The event benefits the non-profit BeSafer that provides fire extinguishers & smoke detectors to Buncombe County fire departments for people in need. Community Sunday Meetup

The mission of Community Sundays is to grow our friendships and our community connections while supporting one another and local non-profit organizations. Join us for Community Sunday! Reunite with old friends, make new friends, and be a part of intentional local community. Once a month Sunday events in Asheville -maybe a hike, a brunch, a brewery, a potluck, a volunteer opportunity. This will be a space where everyone is welcome and we will can enjoy a space of support, encouragement, and real community.

June 23rd: Our first event will have Bounty and Soul as the non-profit of the month. Any donation for this amazing organizations will be greatly appreciated. While Asheville Food Park is listed as permanently closed, It has lots of goodness! HomeGrown is there for eats, Cascade Lounge is there for drinks, and Proving Grounds Coffee Bar is there for caffeine!
