5 Year Anniversary Party!

Parking Lot Party Alert! We are having a party in honor of YOU! Come celebrate an incredible 5 years on Haywood Rd with us. We will have free food, sweet music by Dr Bacon, games, and a hot sauce tasting competition! Bring your own homemade jam to be judged, and the winner will get to name it and have it featured on our jam bar. Rain or shine, bring the family for a fun time on us!

Memorial Day Picnic

Price of admission: Bring an ample covered dish (enough to feed your family, staff, volunteers and musicians. If no covered dish, admission is $15.00. Performers will be COUNTRY JUST US, CLOGGERS, KEVIN BEDDINGFIELD, TOWN & COUNTRY. Bring your dish before 11:30am. The Orchard provides BBQ, coleslaw, beans, buns and drinks. Food will no longer be served after 2:00pm.

Childcare While You Climb Available (3mos-4yrs)

Starting May 18th, SMAC will be offering a childcare service on Friday nights for parents looking for a little time to climb! Call or see the front desk for more information, (828) 505-4446

Parent Practicum

Have you ever felt stumped by homeschooling? Are you looking for parent encouragement & teacher equipping as you begin or continue homeschooling? Join us this summer at a local 3-Day Practicum; Unlocking Language: The Art of Grammar offers keys to more than learning languages! “After 5 years of home-educating, nowhere else do I find similar insight & inspiration from a community of local families” (Celeste Mayes, local Classical Conversations mom). The Parent Practicum explores the classical model of education, sending parents home from Practicum with a new trove full of knowledge and tools ready to employ as you teach at home. Your children are invited to an on-site camp where they to dive into the classical model of education with fun filled activities geared to encourage learning. Come. Be equipped. Be encouraged – that you can confidently navigate this season of homeschooling. You are cordially invited to join us as we discover how to Unlock Language.

Bike Maintenance 101

Don’t get caught with your chamois down on the trail!

Let’s talk bike maintenance. Come to GEARU for a free, entry level class that will teach you the basics of changing a tube, cleaning a bike, fixing a broken chain, etc. Hang out with the GEARU crew and ask us all the questions that will get you out of the woods in a pinch! Bring yo friends.

The Breast Express Comes to Asheville

Come experience The Breast Express: a nursing and pumping suite where Moms can talk to lactation experts, enjoy milk mocktails and learn about regional resources for breastfeeding support!

The 40-ft turquoise boob bus is traveling coast to coast to celebrate women who nurse and pump, while also motivating communities to drive awareness, garner support, and celebrate a world where Mamas thrive.
