Odyssey Community School Student Reading
Join us for a night of fantasy and science fiction written by students at the Odyssey School in Montford. Our middle school authors will be reading excerpts from original short stories inspired by the fiction of Ursula K. LeGuin, Peter Dickinson, Isabel Allende, and Ray Bradbury, among others.

Brews & Bears
Brews & Bears happens the second Friday of the month on May 10, June 14, July 12, and August 9, from 5:30 to 8 pm.
Stroll the Nature Center after hours at this family-friendly event, where you can enjoy the WNC Nature Center in the evening with a beer, cider, or wine in hand. There are also food vendors and educational programming, along with popsicle enrichment for black bears Uno and Ursa! The events will feature beer from Highland Brewing; cider from Appalachian Mountain Brewery; wine from Metro Wines; food from Gypsy Queen Cuisine and Cecilia’s Food Truck, Bigfoot-Longs Hot Dogs, and KONA Ice; and music by Mix 96.5, 105.9 The Mountain, The Realtorz, and the Passionistas.
Brews and Bears events are intended primarily for adults, although families are welcome to attend with the purchase of a ticket. Children 2 and under are free. This is a rain or shine event, and guests will need to bring a valid photo ID to purchase alcoholic beverages or use beer tokens. Tickets can be purchased in advance and may be available for purchase at the door if the event is not sold out ahead of time.

AMOS comes to Pack!
Join a guest speaker from the Asheville Museum of Science as they talk about DINOSAURS and present a hands-on exhibit in celebration of the dino mural painted outside the children’s department by Gus Cutty!
Everyone of any age is welcome. Program will take place in our auditorium. Afterwards, take a walk across the hall to the children’s department and join us for our official curtain pulling to reveal Gus Cutty’s work!
