Downtown Day

Come to downtown Spruce Pine for a fun filled day of music, food, cruisin, and fun! Spend a day walking the streets supporting our local merchants and then stay for our first “classic car cruise-in”. Fun begins at 6:00 am with Troutacular and doesn’t stop until you’re too tired to go home.
Scheduled activities include: Troutacular fishing tournament, Sweet Baby James Meet & Greet, BBQ Fundraiser & raffle for Herman Buchanan of Not Bob’s Antiques, live music from Toe River Drifters, Jerry, Mike,&Bill, & Sugardaddy, face painting, corn hole, cotton candy, snowcones and more! Classic car cruising begins at 5:00 and lasts til 9:00. Shops open late with special sales, raffles, food and giveaways! There’s something for everyone. We cant wait to see you downtown! Two Single Matches: Who are the toughest Micro wrestlers? Come find out!

Micro Brawl: Body slams, suplexes, and punches to the face can take place anywhere in the gym! Get ready for up-close and personal Micro action!

Fatal Four Way: Four Micro superstars enter the squared circle and stand tiny toe to tiny toe against one another in the main event! The belt is on the line and only one Micro wrestler will leave as champion.

Following the show: Fans can stick around and socialize and get autographs with the Micro cast members!

We stop taking golfers at 9pm with lights out at 10pm. We are weather dependent so sometimes we have to adjust our hours. We will be open earlier and later in June.

Odyssey Community School Student Reading

Join us for a night of fantasy and science fiction written by students at the Odyssey School in Montford. Our middle school authors will be reading excerpts from original short stories inspired by the fiction of Ursula K. LeGuin, Peter Dickinson, Isabel Allende, and Ray Bradbury, among others.

Brews & Bears

Brews & Bears happens the second Friday of the month on May 10, June 14, July 12, and August 9, from 5:30 to 8 pm.

Stroll the Nature Center after hours at this family-friendly event, where you can enjoy the WNC Nature Center in the evening with a beer, cider, or wine in hand. There are also food vendors and educational programming, along with popsicle enrichment for black bears Uno and Ursa! The events will feature beer from Highland Brewing; cider from Appalachian Mountain Brewery; wine from Metro Wines; food from Gypsy Queen Cuisine and Cecilia’s Food Truck, Bigfoot-Longs Hot Dogs, and KONA Ice; and music by Mix 96.5, 105.9 The Mountain, The Realtorz, and the Passionistas.

Brews and Bears events are intended primarily for adults, although families are welcome to attend with the purchase of a ticket. Children 2 and under are free. This is a rain or shine event, and guests will need to bring a valid photo ID to purchase alcoholic beverages or use beer tokens. Tickets can be purchased in advance and may be available for purchase at the door if the event is not sold out ahead of time.
