Abby the Spoon Lady & Chris Rodrigues in Concert
Wednesday, April 18, 2018
6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall
Join us for a great evening of storytelling and music. Abby, an internationally known street performer, is one of the few professional spoon players in the U.S. She has studied American folk percussion, music and folklore while traveling the country by foot and rail. Chris Rodrigues is a one-man band and multi-instrumentalist from the Asheville area. He has a unique blues/Appalachian style of music and performance. Together, Abby and Chris offer up some complex rhythms to original songs and standard gospel songs.
The evening will be preceded by supper served from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. The cost is $5.00 for Adults and $3.00 for Children.
There is no admission for the program, but we ask that you consider making a donation at the concert for homeless ministries supported by Central UMC. This event is sponsored by the Central UMC 180th Anniversary Committee.

Spring UP! Paddles, Trails & Ales
Spring Up! is a celebration of all the great things we are able to do outside in WNC, who we are able to do them with, and the organizations that work to protect those natural wonders. We can’t wait to be outside more after the long winter – and this festival aims to share with you the ways you can enhance that experience in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This event is FREE to attend and no tickets are required.

Community Art Night
Come join us for Community Art Night! Held the first Tuesday of every month, this is a free event open to everyone- artist or not! While there will be a different event planned for every time, there will always be an opportunity for our youth to get involved in the evening’s project, or make a craft and take it home, so make sure to bring the kids along.
Please come, meet your neighbors, get inspired, maybe get a little dirty, and be prepared to have fun!
