‘The Plott Hound’ Public Art Dedication

The newest addition to Waynesville’s Public Art Trail!

The Waynesville Public Art Commission will host a dedication ceremony for the latest public art piece, “The Plott Hound,” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, in the Robert and Viola Forga mini-park in the Hazelwood parking area.

Refreshments will be served and T-shirts and other items will be available for purchase.

“The Plott Hound” was sculpted by Todd Frahm, who has completed numerous large public works of art in California, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Missouri.

Frahm’s work was chosen for its depiction of the Plott Hound’s uniqueness and tenacity.

“We are pleased with and proud of the sculpture and hope that citizens and visitors come to view it as an iconic centerpiece for Hazelwood,” said George Kenney, Public Art Commission chairman.

Frahm will be on hand for the dedication.

The mission of the Waynesville Public Art Commission is to engage the community and enrich public spaces through original art that celebrates Waynesville’s unique historic, cultural, natural, and human resources.

For more information, contact George Kenney at 828-246-0124.
