Read-a-roo’s Block Party LIVE is back! Now is your chance to hang with Read-a-roo, and your favorite PBS Kids stars, like PBS KIDS stars Splash and Bubbles, Jet Propulsion and more!

We will be celebrating the end of summer with Back-to-School themed activities, performances, bus safety with Buncombe County Schools, and connecting with new friends! Join us for some amazing giveaways and the chance to meet the Block Party Stars in person! You won’t want to miss this super-sized day of summer celebration!

Camp Wild (Middle & High Schoolers)

Middle School: June 19 – 23

High School: August 7 – 11

 

Camp Wild will feature a week of fun activities for anyone ages 6th-12th grade. It’s a five day long summer camp (with one overnight campout) focused on having fun while learning in the wild outdoors. Participants will explore some of the local sights and attractions of WNC while learning how to conserve, protect, respect, and enjoy the wilderness. Activities include a trip to the Biltmore Estate, a picnic at Sliding Rock, a hike at the Apalachian Highlands Learning Center, and more!

Huge Benefit Rummage Sale

There will also be a Bake Sale and Plant Sale, as well as food, fun, and music! Volunteers, donations, and shoppers are needed to make this event a success! All proceeds will go to South Sudan for Famine Relief.

WNC Author Festival

Do you love western North Carolina? Do you love local literature? Then stop on by and say hi to some of your favorite local authors! The WNC Author Festival will be held on Saturday 10 February from 2pm to 4pm. A dozen local authors will be in attendance, with genres ranging from Christian inspiration to teen fantasy to humor to historical fiction to urban noir to romance to regional nature. Costumed Character Breakfast: Where the Wild Things Are

Please join us for a costumed character breakfast and story time. We will be reading “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak, along with other engaging stories. Fun crafts and activties to follow.

Plus, one of the Wild Things will be joining us! That’s right! Hang out with a Wild Thing and get your picture taken! Come dressed as Max!

Free and open to the public. All ages welcome.

Sign your children up early for these wonderful summer classes! Elementary and Middle School. Mr. Jake had been working with children of all ages and skill levels for many years. He makes the learning process fun while teaching the basics of art. Back by popular demand, so don’t miss out! Maximum of 8 students per class accepted so they will get lots of one on one instruction.

10 Vendor Arts & Craft Fair

Local artists are showing and selling their pottery, jewelry, quilts, paintings, fiber arts, and lanterns! Tell your friends and join us for a fun day of arts and crafts!
