Cow Appreciation Day

Open-7:00pm

On July 9, 2019, don any portion of a cow costume and select any breakfast, lunch or dinner entrée. Kids dressed like a cow may select a Kid’s Meal.

This is a great way to pick up FREE food and have fun as a family, whether you go in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Even if you are partially costumed, you could get this freebie: wear a spotted hat, scarf, purse, or some other clothing.

There are some templates available on Chick-Fil-A’s website that can get you started. Be creative and have fun!

Indian Attack on Davidson’s Fort

$5.00/Age 10 and up, FREE/Senior Citizens

In July 1776 General Rutherford was informed of Indian attacks on the frontier of NC and that Col Charles McDowell had taken refuge in a fort with his Militia and 120 women and children. The Indians and Tories surronding the fort did not stay long but, later ambushed Capt. Rollin White’s rear guard company as McDowell fled to Catheys fort and later to Quaker Meadows.

Come out an witness this again all Native American reenactors and Colonial Militia come out and join us to make this year even bigger and better August 19, 2017. If you are not a reenactor come out to the fort and witness history happening again.

Camping will be available at the fort Friday – Monday of the event.

The “Big Red Balloon” will be launched the morning of the Fourth.  Whereever this balloon is visible, you will be able to see the Fireworks Display at dark. Look for the big ballon and park in town where it is visable.

Summer Saturday Story Time

Join the Mountain Gateway Museum and the Old Fort Branch Library for Saturday Story Time every Saturday from June 17-August 19. Each Saturday features a different theme that includes a reading and an activity. Join us and the library for this new family friendly event.
