June 29th 1:00pm-3:00pm – Car Seat check at Babies”R”Us with Asheville Fire Department and Safe Kids. “Is your child riding safely? Certified child passenger safety technicians will be available to answer your car seat questions and make sure your child’s car seat is properly installed.” FREE!
A FREE U-pick farm, but donations are appreciated. Bring your own bucket & a friend.
We have roughly 150-200 blueberry plants on our property, we invite people out to pick their own (a donation box is located across from the patch) blueberries at our patch anytime. We ask that everyone please observe the following:
• DO NOT park on the grass except where indicated
• Pick up after yourself (no one enjoys trash left behind)
• Be aware that we do have friendly dogs who get excited to see our guests & may jump up to say hi
• Watch out for stinging insects & snakes
• We are NOT responsible for accidents, lost items, or injuries so please pick carefully & enjoy.

Summer reading club and meet the author opportunity for rising 6th-12th graders! Read 1, 2, or all 3 of the Charlie Dead series by Geoff Camphire ( second place winner of the James River Writers contest) , attend one book club at the Biltmore Lake Clubhouse 7-8 pm, and meet the author for autographs and discussion at summers end. The books are witty, and tackle themes of human rights, inclusion/ exclusion, friendship, and how standing by or speaking up determines our character. Great books to read with your pre/teens. Parents welcome but not required.

Asher Leigh is a musician, singer/songwriter, music educator, and empowerment coach who is passionate about providing a safe space for people of all ages to enjoy life, and growth through music. She recently recorded a debut EP album, As I Am, which includes her original material for adults. She is now focusing on children’s music as a way to ignite the child within herself, as well as in others who aspire to create more joy in their lives.

Summer is officially here and with it comes new Nature Play events!
On July 8th, we will be going on a mystery safari at Holmes Educational State Forest! We’ll use real photographs and evidence on the 1/4 mile trail to follow signs of animals in the forest and solve a habitat mystery. This event will be from 10 am – 12 pm. On July 23, we’ll be meeting at the WNC Nature Center to go on a nature scavenger hunt. We’ll explore insects, flowers, leaves, rocks, and all kinds of other natural materials! Admission to the Nature Center is included in this event. This adventure will be from 10 am – 12 pm.
