Kids’ Magical Evening Out (8mos & Up)
We are so excited for our Kids’ Evening Out on Friday, January 26th, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm! We host these pop-up child care events in a few different spaces throughout the city and we transform our pop-up spaces into magical places for children to play and create. We have a limited number of spots for children ages 2 and up and just 4 spots left for ages 1 year – 23 months at this event, so purchase your ticket today! Ticket prices are $25 per child and $15 per sibling.
This event will be held at 261 Asheland Avenue, our fantastic pop-up space in the Town and Mountain Realty building. Our child care events include art and craft materials, toys, activities, music, storytelling, and a healthy snack. Child care is provided by energetic and caring professionals who value creativity, imagination, and learning through play. All of our child care providers have years of experience, have received background checks, and have been trained in positive and gentle discipline techniques.

East West Summer Pop Up Shop
Thursday, June 22 to Saturday, June 24 from 10am-8pm
Sunday, June 25 from 10am-6pm.
The East West Pop Up Shop will be popping up for summer with our 4-day Pop Up Shop showcasing the best in handmade and vintage. The East West Venue will be transformed into a boutique shopping experience full of carefully curated goods featuring 80+ local and regional independent vendors of handmade and vintage goods including housewares, furniture, decor, jewelry, clothing, gifts for baby and more.
The 4-day shop opens Wednesday, June 21st with a ticketed VIP Preview from 5-9pm. A $5 entry fee allows shoppers the first opportunity to preview the great selection and enjoy a festive shopping atmosphere with live music by Quetzal Jordan, complimentary food, beer, and wine from local companies Brahmari Brewing Co. and Table Wine, a fresh flower bar by Blue Ridge Blooms, and tarot readings with Sarah Chappell.
Special events during the pop up will include cyanotype workshops for kids and adults led by Jocelyn Matthews, a jewelry making workshop with Amber Hatchett Designs, chair massage with Amy Massey, and coffee and treats from the adorable Le Bon Cafe.
The Summer Pop Up Shop will be held indoors East West Venue & Vintage Rentals at 278 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC 28806.

Apple Valley Model Railroad Club celebrates 25 years
We will have the following activities happening from 10am to 4pm;
- Four model railroads on display
- Our large HO scale model of western North Carolina
- Our new G scale outdoor garden railroad
- Our HO scale Thomas & Emily layout form young children to operate
- Our HO scale switching puzzle layout
- A BRIO train setup for very young kids to play with
- A custom car show on Maple Street in front of the depot
- Fried Pie Experience, a live oldies and rock & roll band outside on the plaza
- A real diesel locomotive on site for your inspection courtesy of Blue Ridge Southern Railroad
- A real caboose for you to tour
- Videos about the history of our club and the depot showing in our meeting room
- A food truck and a Gelato cart
- The Sandburg goats will visit for the day

12:00pm-12:45pm: Follow along with Mary Liske, the OM Sanctuary Wellness Coordinator as she discusses The Wellness Wheel of Health. Mary will use an easy, yet powerful exercise that will help you identify the areas in your life that need the most attention to help you become balanced. The seven areas Mary will discuss are Mental, Emotional, Social, Environmental, Physical, Financial and Spiritual Health.
