Vacation Bible School

Hello Everyone! VBS for the Mills River SDA Church will be from 6/ 18 – 6//22 from 6 to 8 in the evening. It will be a lot of fun and a meal will be served for the children. On June 23rd we will have a fun day from 1-4. Registration day for VBS will take place at the church on June 6 from 6 – 8pm. I can also register your children by phone if you call me at 305-684-0096!

Dancing Bear’s Spinner Social

We’re hosting the ultimate Fidget Spinner meet-up! Bring your very best spinner, test how long you can keep it spinning, show off some tricks, and maybe learn a new trick or two. We’ll have a free raffle to win a metal spinner of your very own. You won’t wanna miss it!

Tacos and Wolfdogs – A fundraiser for Full Moon Farm

Come join us for some family fun! We’ll be offering a delicious taco dinner with all the fixins (vegetarian option included). We’ll have a farm tour, stuffie toss (toys for the wolfdogs!), live music, a 50/50 raffle and a salsa contest!

Full Moon Farm is a 501c3 nonprofit, all proceeds go directly to the care of our 60+ resident wolfdogs.

Deadline is June 20th. We can only accomodate 50 people so get your tickets fast!

Salsa Contest Rules
Hottest ~ Most Original ~ Fan Favorite
There will be a panel of three judges and a special gift basket will be awarded to the winner of each category. Entry fee $15 (pay at the event). Set up begins at 3pm and the contest will be held at 5pm. Bring your own ingredients, they must be assembled at the farm.

FREE Intermediate Chess Lesson with Chess Master Mike Klein

June 17th … Mastered the basics of chess but want to level up your game? Join Chess Master Mike Klein for an intermediate learning session.  The lesson will be from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Then at 6:00 Mike will take on all challengers in a Beat the Master Blitz Challenge.

A little about Mike: Past NC Champion. 5-time NC High School Champion. Former national scholastic champion. Chess Coach for 20 years. Owner of Young Master Chess and Director of Content for Chess.com

After the lesson, if you can beat Mike, you win a prize. That simple.

Fundraiser for Police Chief Brett Holloman

As many of you know Chief Brett Holloman has been a vital part of the Woodfin Community for decades. From a young recruit shot in the line of duty to developing the Woodfin Police Department into one of the finest law enforcement agencies anywhere the people of Woodfin have been able to rely on the Chief.

Right now Brett is facing some medical issues and we’re asking anyone who can to contribute to his care by attending a fundraiser being hosted by 911 Burgers and More this Thursday. The folks at 911 Burgers have generously stepped up to help out the Chief and we encourage anyone and everyone to come out and have a great burger and help a great cause.

911 Burgers and More has great burgers, hotdogs, chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers and their famous french fries. If you haven’t been to 911 Burgers and More you’ve missed out on some classic American comfort food served by wonderful people in an immaculate restaurtant. If you have been there before, you already know what you’re missing. So please come out and join us this Thursday for lunch or dinner.
