Basketball Camp (6yrs-12th Grade)

UNC Asheville women’s basketball head coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick and her staff will host three camps during the summer of 2017 as part of the Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick Girls Basketball Camps. The camps are dedicated to providing basketball camps that are both instructional and informational as well as featuring great atmospheres to learn in.

The back-to-back Big South Conference Champion women’s basketball coaching staff prides itself on teaching the sport to players of all ages and ability levels. All camps are taught by the Bulldog coaching staff and current players. The mechanics and drills that are taught at the clinics are the same ones used in developing the UNC Asheville women’s basketball student-athletes as they have won back-to-back Big South Tournament titles and made two-straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

“We are excited to be hosting our sixth year of basketball camp at UNC Asheville,” said Coach Mock, the 2015-16 Big South Conference and HERO Sports Coach of the Year. “Designing a competitive and fun camp curriculum as well as providing a first class experience is a priority for us at all of our camps. It is extremely important to me that our entire staff as well as our student-athletes are present and involved throughout the camps. For high school aged campers, our high intensity camp is an opportunity to experience basketball at a high level and work on specific skill sets that will carry over to their high school seasons. We also love to collaborate with local and regional high schools at our team camp and have up to 6 courts under one roof to utilize. Our day camp has doubled in size over the past two years and is an unforgettable experience for young girls desiring to learn more about competition, exercise and basketball.”

Sgt. Pepper 50th Anniversary with Abbey Road LIVE! (all ages)

Sgt. Pepper 50th Anniversary with Abbey Road LIVE!
Performing “Sgt. Pepper” with horns, strings and sitar!
Show: 8pm
Doors: 7pm

All Ages

Tickets & Info: www.theorangepeel.net/events/abbey-road-live-16/

“It was 50 years ago today Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play…”

Known for its spot-on album recreations of Abbey Road andMagical Mystery Tour, tonight Abbey Road LIVE! will honor what some have called the single most important record in rock ‘n’ roll history: Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band. Originally released on June 1, 1967, Sgt. Pepper redefined the boundaries of popular music.

Hailing from the musical mecca of Athens GA, Abbey Road LIVE! is not your typical Beatles tribute act. No mop top haircuts or faux British accents here. Instead, Abbey Road LIVE! specializes in live performances of the more complex Beatles’ repertoire from the the band’s studio years.

Abbey Road LIVE! will perform Sgt. Pepper in its entirety with orchestral accompaniment. Violins, sitar, cello, clarinets and trumpet will “pepper” the mix as the band brings to life this ground-breaking work.

The show will also feature a second set of Beatles favorites that will keep you dancing and singing along all night. A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
