This series is designed to start with basic concepts to deepen your understanding of racism in our culture then move into more complex needs and scenarios for helping children to learn in classrooms and at home. These sessions will help you feel more empowered as parents and educators to be in discussion and supportive with kids developing a healthy understanding of racial diversity and how to work toward racial justice.
Each event will include both a presentation of ideas and a workshop to engage those ideas. Events are run by Justina Prenatt, LPCA of Clover Heart Concepts, and Megan McCarter Martell, Executive Director of Programs at Odyssey.

This is a free meet and greet Open House for families interested in Asheville Forest School to interact with teachers and perhaps currently enrolled families too. Our school serves children ages 3 to 6, and this event is intended for families who have children who are currently old enough to attend our school, or those who will be by August of 2017.
We will meet out on our school land. You will have the opportunity to see where the students work, learn and play, and find out what Forest School is all about.
Our school is off of a private driveway, so there will be signs directing you where to park. Carpooling encouraged!
Please dress for the weather, keeping in mind that our elevation causes temperatures 5-10 degrees cooler than down in the city.
Feel free to share this event. We welcome questions and comments!
For any questions please contact Kai Leathers at 270-776-5071 or by email at kai.leathers8@gmail.com.
