1 Mic Studio gives youth and young adults the opportunity to find their voice through the art of audio production. Youth can use this simple, high quality recording studio to record music, sounds, rhymes and beats. A LEAF Schools & Streets teaching artist will be available once a week for regularly scheduled sessions to help youth with their artistic development and to support the recording process. Youth with music, rap, song writing and audio production experience are encouraged to register. Call the Center for additional information.

An interactive workshop designed for parents and educators who want to support the boys in their lives with developing into positive young men. Participants will learn: The tools of engagement for adolescent boys, how to help boys build confidence, and how to instill leadership qualities in male youth.
Ali Abu Awwad is a leading Palestinian activist who teaches his countrymen non-violent resistance and reaches out to Jewish Israelis at the heart of the conflict. He tours the world to tell his riveting story of violent activism, imprisonment, bereavement, and discovery of the path of non-violent resistance.
Ali is known to say that “The path to Palestinian freedom should run through Jewish hearts and minds.”
Ali will take time to sit with our youth and share his story and answer questions. Please join us for this amazing opportunity.

The HardLox Jewish Food and Heritage Festival is hosted by Congregation Beth HaTephila and co-sponsored by the City of Asheville.

Annual Apple Harvest Festival has been named one of the “10 Best Fall Harvest Festivals in the Nation”, this annual street festival in charming downtown Waynesville is a delicious way to enjoy the tastes of the fall season. This premier arts and crafts event celebrates apples and the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. Stroll the historic Main Street filled with vendors and a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Admission is free.
Painters under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult who is also participating. Because seating is limited and we don’t know which classes will sell out, we cannot accommodate observers in public classes. Anyone who plans on being in our studio for the duration of the class must purchase a seat. We cannot accommodate infants in any class.
WE ASSIGN SEATING so If you’d like to be seated with another guest, please let us know in the SITTING WITH SOMEONE ELSE? section. You may enter a person’s name, or a group (i.e. your work/organization). We cannot guarantee seating changes upon your arrival.
**BYOB: Drinks & food! We provide cups, napkins & bottle openers. We do NOT provide ice or eating/serving utensils. You must be at least 21 to consume alcohol (beer and wine only) in the studio. We reserve the right to I.D.
