Wed:
09:00 – 7:00
Thurs:
09:00 – 6:00
Fri:
09:00 – 5:00

Does your child display behaviors, such as covering one eye, holding reading materials close to the face, have a short attention span, or complain of headaches or other discomfort? They could have an undiagnosed eye or vision problem.

During the month of August, we are offering FREE vision screenings for students, ages 6-18. No appointment necessary.

“From ages 6 to 18, a child’s vision can change frequently or unexpectedly which can lead to behavioral and attention issues in the classroom. This year, AOA encourages parents to start the school year on a healthy note by making comprehensive eye exams a priority and maintaining proper eye health throughout the year.” – source: American Optometric Association

No Pets Left Behind!

Friends, please help us clear our local shelters!!! This Saturday, August 20, is International Homeless Animals’ Day and Asheville Humane Society is launching our very first “No Pets Left Behind” adoption event. During the busiest time of year with the most animals in need, our goal is to clear WNC shelters and find loving families for every homeless pet!

Regional shelter and rescue organizations were invited to participate by reducing their adoption fees, and these groups joined the team effort:
Blue Ridge Humane Society (Hendersonville)
Foothills Humane Society – Polk County, NC (Columbus)
Macon County Animal Services (Franklin)
Madison County Animal Services – NC (Marshall)
Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc. (Waynesville)

(Adoption fee discounts vary at each location – please refer to each organization’s website for details, address, hours, etc.) Stop by one or more of your local shelters on Saturday to help make this lifesaving event a huge success!

If you can’t adopt, please SHARE to help our local animals in need! Together, we will make sure there are no pets left behind!
