This series offers practical strategies and tools to identify and prepare for change, develop methods for strengthening relationships, and prepare children and families for success. This program is open to all Veteran parents, as well as anyone who is involved with parenting the child of a Veteran.
Veterans must be enrolled in VA services to participate.

We will have food, a bounce house, games, and fun for the whole family. Hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided by the Y, and feel free to bring sides and desserts to share! The cookout is FREE to members.”

Join The Nature Conservancy, in conjunction with Chimney Rock State Parkand Gorges State Park, for a special program at REI Asheville in Biltmore Park marking the 100th Anniversary of NC State Parks.The Nature Conservancy played a leading role in the creation of 23 state parks and natural areas across North Carolina. Gorges State Park Superintendent Steve Pagano, Chimney Rock Superintendent James Ledgerwood and TNC’s Fred Annand and Debbie Crane will talk about the history of state parks in North Carolina and what makes them so special. Superintendents Pagano and Ledgerwood will also talk about priorities and goals for the parks they oversee. Light refreshments will be served beginning at 6:30pm with the program beginning at 7pm. The program will take place in the Community Room on the second floor of REI in Biltmore Park Town Square, 31 Schenck Parkway, Asheville, NC 28803. Billy The Liar is a fast paced, high energy puppet play that does not take its audience for granted, but instead takes them for a ride, with surprises around every turn. Follow the adventures of Billy and his friend Suzy, as Billy tells more and more lies that get him into more and more trouble. Throughout the show be bombarded with random lessons in vocaulary and life! Billy The Liar features Czech-style marionettes, rod puppets, over-sized toy theatre, found objects and live physical comedy performed by the Thunderelves!. It is suitable for all audiences with a taste for the zany and fun. Billy The Liar is a multipe award winning show: Best Performance and Fan Favorite 2013 National Puppetry Festival and a 2014 UNIMA Citation For Excellence In The Art Of Puppetry, the highest award given in the field of puppetry.

Billy The Liar was written, designed, and directed by Keith Shubert of TOYBOX THEATRE, with construction assistance by Madison J. Cripps of Cripps Puppets and Valerie Meiss of Tiny Wonder. Also features original song and music by Valerie Meiss
