August Hours
M-F: 9:00-5:00, Sat. 9:00-5:30. Closed on Sunday until Aug. 19.
Then Open Daily 9:00am-5:00pm – Apple Picking at Stepp’s Hillcrest Orchard in Hendersonville! They’ll start U-Pick season off with Ginger Gold, Honey Crisp, and Gala.

Yes, there ARE open on Labor Day!

Sky Top Orchard opens for the 2016 season on Aug. 6th.

We’ll start U-Pick off with Ginger Golds and Early Macs.

From Aug. 6th forward, we’re open every day 9a – 6p until Daylight Savings Time ends then we’ll switch to 9a – 5p. Only closed Thanksgiving Day.

Learn about Gardening and Plant Science at Bullington Gardens

The Bullington Center a partnership of: The Henderson County Education Foundation Henderson County Public Schools NC Cooperative Extension–Henderson County

The Bullington Center is a 12 acre horticultural education center in Henderson County N.C. Once the home and nursery of Bob Bullington, it is now a place for children and adults to learn about gardening and plant science with hands-on workshops. It also a place where visitors can stroll the grounds, enjoy the gardens and find a peaceful spot.

Farm City Day 2023

Begun in 1955 by Henderson County Cooperative Extension and Kiwanis International, Farm City Day takes place on about 50 acres of Jackson Park in Hendersonville and features urban, rural and educational displays, antiques and modern farm equipment and crafters from many generations. The event focuses on agricultural awareness, teaching children and adults where their food comes from and who produces it. A special youth area features hands-on activities including a farm animal petting zoo, old-timey demonstrations, a fishing pond and other children’s games and activities. Entertainment includes local bands performing throughout the day. Food trucks also are available. Farm City Day is free. However, there are cash fees for some of the activities, as well as for vendors selling food and more.

The Eblen Charities Walk, Run, or Roll

A fun individual, family or team event to benefit Buncombe county students and their families. Your support of this event will enable Eblen Charities to continue to assist more than 125,000 families annually through medical care & supplies, prescription assistance, travel assistance, dental & physician care, and funding assistance for food, rent, heat, & other emergency aid.

Participants on bikes, strollers and skates are all welcome to participate in this easy walk through the main campus of AB Tech.

100% of the proceeds from Eblen’s 5K/10K Walk, Run, Roll go directly to help local families.

Sign up for the Walk today! Join a team, walk with your family, friends and co-workers! The funds raised at the Walk help families who are struggling with to pay for basic necessities, heat, power, gas, water, rent, eyeglasses, medical and so much more! Thank you!

Hot August Night 5K winds throughout the beautiful historic Montford Community. Register online at www.active.com, or register in person at the Tempie Avery Montford Center.
